Wvw? With a necro? How? Such wow!
If you run with the zerg all the time use a well build. Those are considered the best a the moment.
I would go 30/10/0/0/30. The key traits would be ranged wells and Close to Death the others are not that important, through Deathly Perception is also nice.
For gear you can use zerkers or a combo of cavalier and knight, depending what you want.
Commanders are going to ask Necromancers to do a few things like…
1) Mark portals/walls
2) Use Well of Corruption to strip boons at the beginning of a zerg fight
3) Lay down Spectral Wall on chokes
4) Rotate Plague with other Necromancers
So make sure you can accommodate them in your build.
focus on Dungeons, Fractals and Raiding.

First of all thank you! The knights gear(2-3 pieces) was apparent given I run it on my guard all day long. With that said, your recommending I run with zero condi gear? I was planning on mismatching the knights with rabid or something similar and then stacking vit/berserker trinkets.

This is helpful beyond belief! And sorta funny cause just today I was experimenting with spectral wall.

The thing is conditions are relatively weak in zergs (especially against orgenized groups) and while still doable, power builds with wells are the safest bet.
I am not a big fan of stacking vitality instead of toughness on necros as we already have high base health. But in the other hand, thanks to ds, necros are the only profession, for which it is ok to stack vitality beyond a certain point.
I run conditions in zergs but no duration, just dmg. I mainly want to lay down as much chill, blind, poison and weakness as possible and watch the rage.

A condition necro is best used in small groups or solo. They can blow most things up!
Go with a dhuumfire build and eat veggie pizzas on top of it!
That build, although mainly used for havoc teams, can also serve most of the functionalities that are required of a necro in a zerg, in case you need to help a zerg from time to time. But if you’re always zerging, you may consider quicker burst damage options rather than pure DoT.
If you’re building your necro from the ground up, you might wanna wait for the feature build before committing to a full rabid gear though as they are introducing a drastic change to dhuumfire.
ascii wellomancer build:
this is really pretty expensive but its definitely an amazing build for zerg action.
for small groups it works too but maybe a terrormancer/dire wellomancer would be better.
play whatever you like, prefer and have fun with and youll be the most productive

I second this, been playing it for some months, usually with my guild group of 15-25 guildies: it really does pack a punch and is a blast to play
I agree that it’s kind of a pain to put together tough: Melandrus are expensive, lemongrass is too, and you’ll have to do guild missions, dailies and fractal like crazy to put those cavalier trinkets together.
I usually use an Omnomberry Compote instead of Lemongrass (cheaper, and usually that much -condition duration feels kind of an overkill to me), and you could use berseker’s weapon if you got them lying around until you get assasin’s. Seeing that the important with the build is to get that 50% crit, the ferocity change shouldn’t impact the build much, too.
Also, I usually switch around that Well of Power for Signet of the locust, Spectral walk and Spectral wall.

You owe it to yourself to play zerker necro in WvW, no hold barred pure power on a necro is a scary thing! Nothing can effectively tank sustained zerker necro fire.
It will take a steaming dump all over any poor sap who trys to use Ascii’s well build one on one with you

For zerg fights, the necro has no mobility besides swiftness. Its not recommendable to go full zerk unless you have played the class for a very long time and are running with an organized group. I suggest 70-80% crit damage and 2500-2700 armor to start off with, and then switch out for zerk gear from there as you get more comfortable.
30/10/0/0/30, 20/20/0/0/30, 20/10/10/0/30, 10/20/10/0/30 are all viable for dps builds. some offer more survavibilty or blind/chill or both.

This seems to be a support necromancer. I would use well of darkness with trait line chills on blind, since there is no real DPS output imo.

We would need more information on what YOU are interested in… Do you like condi over direct damage or vice-versa. Do you want to be more survivable then damage, do you want to be healer or terrormancer or direct glass/condi glass, nuisance condi etc etc etc… Just kindly tell us where your interests lie?
Sanctum Of Rall: Ehmry Bay: Sea Of Sorrows
I’ve been playing Necromancer in World vs. World for a long time, and there are three builds I’ve used to great success.
Starting off, I used Ascii’s “Wellomancer” build to get a feel of the profession in WvW and to learn its limits with a decent balance of damage and survivability. There are already links to it here, but it’s 0/25/25/20/0 with Zerker/Assassin’s weapons, PPT/Zerker mix @ Melandru and Cavalier trinkets iirc. I’d recommend this build to any newer WvW Necros, it’s fairly durable and will help you get a feel of how Necros play in WvW.
Once I got more experienced, I changed to a more DPS oriented build and ran 10/30/0/0/30 with the same armor and weapons, except choosing Cavalier trinkets upgraded with Zerker jewels instead of PPT jewels.
Finally, the build I use now, which I used a little in GvGs and raids during my time with FEAR is a 30/10/0/0/30 trait setup again, but with Assassin’s weapons, full Zerker armor @ 6 Scholar, and Cavalier trinkets. I would really not recommend this build until you get very experienced with the profession, but with certain traits along that traitline and under the right conditions, the damage is absolutely insane and still blows me away.
Hope this helps.
