Your ideal legendary weapon look
I would like a charr/norn/human femur crudely cut into a point at one of the ends for a makeshift dagger and drips blood.
We can dream cant we.
A staff that causes small green spirits to swirl around the character and changes the staff attack from a hand into a ghost/spirit projective, when marks explode they release a bunch of swirling spirits. Basically something ghostly and otherworldly. Something that fits with the spectral effects that necros have.
Oh and also causing a subtle green “smoke” effect that kind of flows down from the knees and feet, and that lingers for a bit as the character moves.
I like those spectral stuff.

Hand Scythe for Axe, green spectral aura, drips liquid darkness that hit the ground, turning into pools of inky blackness with skulls floating in the pool.
Oh, and the “chomp” animation becomes a leering lich’s grin.
Oh, and a screaming of lost souls when you swing it.
a focus that looks like a ceremonial dagger.
cause most foci in this game look kitten and it would fit my dagger/focus necro.
Gunnar’s Hold
We currently don’t have any legendary weapons that would look like they should be on a necro (so does most class).
I disagree with that. I think Frostfang fits rather well on a Necro, particularly because I like to use a lot of chills. Of course, it figures that it’s our weakest weapon…but as looks go I think it’s good.
I also think Eye of Rodgort should have just been created as a legendary with a bit more pronounced effects.
One I would like to see, though I’m not sure if the animation would be easy to do, is a staff that looks like a snake (even better a skeletal snake) that wraps around the player when stowed and wraps around the player’s arm when being wielded. When walking it could drop little snakes that slither away behind the player.
For camp value, a staff that looks like a shovel would be pretty funny (hey, they have a trident that looks like a pitchfork). Not sure about the animations and particle effects for that one.
The Crossing is a pretty awesome staff that just screams necro all over it. If its light were to fluctuate and to be a lot brighter at night than day, then it’ll be one ideal necro legendary.
I’d like a staff that is made entirely of shadow, like the sythe animation. This staff would make you leave a shadow trail behind, and you would have a faint darkness all around you.
S/I/F engineer Z/R/D guard
I’d like a gnarled old branch shaped like an arm for a scepter, and in its hand would be a green jewel that shone with an otherwordly glow. As for special effects… Everytime you hit an enemy with an attack – spirits would start circling them or something.
I would like a totem pole for a scepter, which turns into a “spectral whip” when swung, with the difference facets of the totem (heads, animals, whatever) held together by an line of otherworldly green glow. The user’s arm would appear as it does when in a “spectral” form (such as spectral walk) at all times, perhaps in a gradient strongest at the hand and getting weaker to nonexistent toward the shoulder.
A staff with dark black, smoky tendrils coming off of it and also tendrils swirling around the character when stood still. The staff itself though, would emit a bright light but is hardly visible due to the tendrils (the darkness taking away the light).Black puffy smoke coming of from the character’s footsteps when he runs.
No need for a legendary, just make the scythe animation appear on staff when unsheathed instead of only when casting.
There is a general lack of visuals for weapons such as staffs, daggers, axes and scepters(tho eye of rodgort is enough for us, I’m speaking overall).
Not only do other weapons such as greatswords/swords/hammers have quite nice legendary visuals, they have amazing exotic variants as well.
But I myself do not see something similar for the mentioned weapons above. Not only do their legendary versions lack(albeit the recent Incinerator visual upg) but their named exotic variants are so lacking as well, it’s disheartening.
Let’s say a person doesn’t like the legendary greatswords, but wants a nice visual – he gets Volcanus.Don’t like Kudzu/Dreamer? – Aether/Azureflame are there.
Frostfang?Sure, it’s nice.If you can spot it.The only thing that may tell you a person has Frostfang is the footsteps.
The game’s focus is not balancing around gear(I think). It’s balance is around visuals. And at the moment they are extremely far from balanced(as in – no type of weapon is lacking in visuals). When you focus around something, you better make kitten sure it’s as balanced as you can imo…..
what change did they do to incinerator?
Edit: Also, when?
