reaper is now big joke vs berserker 10s stunbreak its balance 3s stun + break stun elite with 20s cd balance so warrior will have best passive heal best condi clean and now best stun break all in one gj anet vs reaper slow and big cd on skills and traits

So basically:
Reaper: Slow, medium damage, lots of health, no defense, might be able to chill something for 2s.
Bezerker: Fast, high damage, lots of health, tons of defense, crazy burn, moving fire fields, CC out the wazoo, and perma stab
But yeah… i’m sure reaper will be meta and wanted by everyone.

Chilling nova on a 2sec ICD or RIOT!
and increase in dmg. the Berserker does 600+ burn dmg while Chilling Nova around 300 dmg in pve build
dat 15 sec ICD on Chiling Nova is hilarious when you see the same trait on Berserker with 2sec. i almost cry from laugh when i saw this on twitch. and then you have Robert say for Necro/Reaper: “we don’t want XXX to be OP so we put cast time to balance”. where’s the drawback here to balance? oh, i forgot, only Necro/Reaper gets drawbacks. this discrimination and unbalance has gone too far

Rampage = Same dmg as lich, High CC, CC reduce, More Sustain, 3 Stacks Stability + Tons of extra buffs.

So basically:

now that you mentioned fast, Shattering Blow utility skill summons a rock and then punches it with the fist and that skill has 0.5s cast time. omg and 3 lols. the skill is so fast that it’s like you have speed hack. when you watch it from video etc sources it looks like you put it on fast forward. they took the cast time they were gonna add on this skill and put it on Gravedigger: 1.25s cast time and 2s full cycle cast time. compared to Shattering Blow that is on fast forward, Gravedigger is in slow motion with 2s full cycle. this unbalance and discrimination is too stronk

Warrior > Necro any day, because Devs want it that way.
I am just about give up having hopes for this profession. They give you a nice thing then they give another class the same thing they gave to you but 100 times better. And that class is the top 2 mobility in game, while we are the worst.

i must ask again why is necro still in game? devs again and again show they bugger this class and berserker show this if warrior can have F1 and F2 why necro cannot have DS and RS same time when necro dont have any range weapon that dont suck (axe big fail and staff is slower aa in game what dont work right) and 1 big question why have gravedigger 2 spin if hit only 1 time???? if they remove it they can save 50% casting time we dont see other engi/thief/ranger spec but i can say reaper will be most up spec in Hot like necro in vanilla necro suck in every path power/condi/ support almost every class have better dmg/ better condi and can support better

what kind of stupid argument is this, shroud and berserker mode are completely different mechanics. one acts as a seperate life bar while the other takes your own health bar… warriors can’t leave berserker mode even if they wanted to, necros can leave shroud and you’re crying about equality? come on…
i’m gonna say this here and many people might not believe me but reaper > berserker.
the primal burst skills on berserker are basically trash. they look awesome and have cool effects but in the end they are mechanically inferior to the normal burst skills.
while reaper builds on necros and makes them better berserker doesn’t do that. it changes the warrior in a way that is different but not really better.
one of the examples are combustive shot, it’s power came from covering a whole pvp point, forcing you to stand in the fire if you wanted to keep the point.
the new combustive shot fires a row of smaller fields in which you don’t have to stand if you don’t want to.flurry was an immob, good for setting up burst or keeping enemies from jumping allies. the new one just fires burning bolts and destroys projectiles. all in all interesting but better than the normal one?
another good example is primal burst earthshaker. the normal one stuns the foe for a couple of seconds, so you can follow up with backbreaker. the new one pushes them back, out of range for your backbreaker.
it might look shiny and all but it’s not as good as some of you might think (except that master trait, that one is really good).
But a Berserker spec retains all the original burst skills and allows you to use new ones that only cost 10 Adrenaline instead of 30 for best effect.
The stability GM-trait is an insult and a slap in the face of Reaper, we got something ok with Enfuse Terror and thye get PERMA Stab, the also get a better Unholy Sanctory… that Master is imho the best Master Trait presented sofar.
Tho Warrior have already bin Necros hard counter this Elite Specc just widens the gap to Necro further, a gap we closed slightly due to Reaper Shroud being Melee based.

I think they want to make the specializations look so good in order to sell HoT, because let’s be fair, the price and what it offers so far is not that attractive., that they forgot about balance. This thing is just broken in so many ways.
It seems more like there are two teams doing the balancing with completely different thoughts on how to approach balance.
In base classes, you have revenant, necro, mesmer and increasingly thief who are balanced around the optimal potential ability, regardless of how ‘fun’ it feels.
On the other hand, you have most notably Ele and Warrior, who are balanced around average potential ability, and whether it feels ‘fun’. Opposite to thief, eng seems to be taking the opposite route, going from being balanced around optimal potential to average potential. In all of those cases they have gained new abilities and branched out to the point that their former weaknesses are now in cases their strongest suit, and have retained all previous abilities.
On the new specs you see the same thing happening.
Necro and Guardian, among others, are clearly balanced around an optimal potential, in addition to actually trading off some inherent ability for abilities in an area they were lacking before(for necro, it’s the ability to be competent at mid-range combat to gain point-blank AOE and 10-20sec ICDs on abilities that other classes get with half that ICD, if any at all).
But then you hit mesmer, ele and warrior specs, that are clearly balanced around an average and ability to have fun, and don’t trade anything away, but instead offer massive bonuses with no downside.
Like zerker, want perma burning with free condi-cleanse on a tiny CD, to the point that you’re immune to CDs? Sure! Want your condi traits and skills to be also make great power builds, sure, no problem! Oh, a class who has a core weakness of being vulnerable to kiting, well, that doesn’t sound like fun, so have perm stab.
Oh, a class that is intended to be a bunker and is defensive in nature has massive issues with kiting? you get 3 sec stab every 7 seconds, because it’s not fun to face perm stab.
Oh you already have a skill that transfers condis on AA, and have had it like that since launch, and we’ve never touched it(except to fix actual bugs on it)? And you also have a trait just recently added that will clear a condi every 3 seconds, meaning that switching out the trait to mirror the existing functionality of a core underwater skill is clearly not overpowered and you’re just talking out your kitten?

F1 and F2 shrouds and share cd and choose if you want range or melee would be great, but only Warrior can have this option of choice
finally someone that can see behind the fancy animation of Gravedigger and understands that it has unnecessary animation and it’s very bad. i’d prefer if they increase dmg by 10-15%, lower it’s cast time to 0.5s which is the typical cast time for 1-hit skills. Mesmer has even 0.25s cast time skill and hits 5 targets, and not 3 like Gravedigger + removes 1 boon. weapon throw etc skills have 0.75s cast time. and it should hit 5 targets. Drake Breath and Fire Grab of Ele are frontal only attacks but they hit 5 targets
Gravedigger from 1.25s cast time, it skyrocket to 2s on full cycle. even if it did 2-hits, 1.25s cast time is still too much. Mesmer does 4-hits with 1s cast time, and list goes on. on the other hand look how fast this skill of Berserker is: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jd9QuYktMos. it summons a rock, punches it, and all that in 0.5s cast time. seeing it from video, doesn’t it feel like it’s on fast forward? they cut the animation so that the attack is fast to not have drawback

I am already good for zerks, too. Level 80 warrior, too bad is not fun to play that.
The reason berserker can keep their old burst system is their compensation for only getting a new offhand. Reaper and DH both get a new two-handed weapon so their mechanic skills are completely changed.

you know that this an excuse right? as i said before, you can add both shrouds and make them share the cd and let players choose which one they want to use. since they will share cd there is absolutely no problem at all. Berserker/Warrior don’t need compensation. they need nerf without any kind of compensation. class is 2 times stronger than Necro/Reaper and has 0 drawbacks. the only way Berserker kept it’s old burst is cause Arenanet decided so

Gaining additional power, instead of alternate power, just because you got fewer new skills to play with doesn’t make any sense anyways.
A two handed weapon adds more abilities, an offhand adds more weapon skill diversity but fewer new skills. Neither deserves free additional power, however because neither actually adds more power than the other to the class in terms of number of skills or potency.
The logic that off-hands deserve more spawned because spoiled players would feel “cheated out” if they got fewer new skills, regardless of what that actually meant for the class.
Just my 2 cents.
(Example: reaper without GS gained alternative skills. Berserker without a torch gained rampage and new burst skills on top of their base.)

While I agree that having both shrouds available to us would be awesome, its not Arenanet’s official position on the issue. Would you want DH to be able to swap through both sets of virtues? Because thats the only way to make it logically consistent.
Although this was likely a shortcut or a way to make specializations a bit varied in effect, all of them should have just gotten the Necro/Guardian treatment and gained something that is fundamentally different signifying some gain for some loss.
I imagine that would be hardest for Engineer and Elementalist, but that’s what probably should have happened. Just gaining over the base is a bit bland, doesn’t do much to differentiate base classes from their elite and sucks for the 2-hand classes.

if Necro/Reaper had both shrouds i wouldn’t mind Guard/DH to swap virtues, but share cd ofc, so that it use 1 virtue set. but now that only Berserker can choose what Burst to use, is this logically consistent? no it’s not
