Am I bleeding them or is my ally?
So I have tested this extensively and I will keep it short.
1. If a mob is bleeding and has say 20 stacks of bleed on it. Each of those bleeds has a timer it has left before it expires, and a source for its bleed damage (either you or someone else) that determines how much damage it does. If you EPIDEMIC that mob and its bleeds over to another mob or group of mobs, the durations are copied exactly and the damage dealt to the additional targets hit with epidemic will be based off of your condition damage, even though not all 20 bleeds were from you.
2. Your bleeds are your own, and as long as the mob/person is not at 25 stacks of bleeding, any bleed you apply lasts your specific skill duration and ticks for your damage, and is unaffected by anyone else.
What I suspect you are seeing is when the target who is bleeding you is booned up with might. If you use blood is power after bleeding someone, you will noticed your ticks jump up about 20 damage or so for bleeds.
3. If you are at 25 stacks of bleeding, the “fresh” bleed will override the oldest bleed. That means that if you have a 60 second bleed on the target, and a team of mesmers proccing their short bleeds continuously up near the bleed cap, it will be pushed off very quickly. There is no priority system of bleeds or bleed damage or bleed duration.
Hope that answers the question.
Each application of Bleed has his own stack. Which means if you apply 1 Bleed for 5 sec and 1 Bleed for 10 sec, each of them deal damage at the same time for their own duration.

The only limit is the 25 stack on a target, and then it’s FIFO (First in First out). The small weak quick bleed from your Power mesmer friend may kick out your longer and stronger bleed, which is a shame really.

well uhm……….what?
without trying to sound rude
@Rennoko,no it does not answer my question, because it definitely was not from might stacks and i would like to know where you’ve tested bleed out from epidemic getting all of your own condition damage, because after using Epidemic it shows your condition damage, but floaters do that for burning/poison/confusion aswell,it doesn’t mean that’s the damage they ACTUALLY take
@Panhauramix,you’re describing exactly what i had asked not to describe because that’s what everyone points to and it is NOT the question i’m asking
let’s put it into simple terms since clearly nobody reads the whole post before answering:
what if i apply 10 second bleed for 100 damage/s and someone applies 10 second bleed for 50 damage/s one second after my application
for 9 seconds how much damage are they taking
200/s or 100/s

read rennokko’s post again, be a learner this time.
and figure it out for yourself

150 damage per second.
Edit: I have no idea how this relates to the opening post, but Answering Questions!
It’s pretty obvious, and nobody’s impressed.
Haha I did read your whole post but thanks. I’ll try to put it in even more simple term too.
Your SINGLE stack of 10 sec bleeding for 100 damage/sec will tick at the same time as the SINGLE stack of 10 sec of bleeding for 50 damage/sec your mesmer friend put on. So 150 damage/sec.
Now if you epidemic those 2 (TWO) stacks to everyone around, they will suffer 200 damage/sec because it take YOUR condition damage when transfering.
Hope you understand it now.
So you will see on the mob 2 (TWO) stack of bleed, each ticking for their own damage (you’ll only see your 100, not the 50 because it’s not yours, the mesmer will only see 50)
So for 9 sec, the mob takes 150/s.

kay
i do now
thanks
i just didn’t get if it ALWAYS dealt my full damage or if it was combined or lessened or wat
and everyone kept pointing out the bleed cap/overwritting previous bleeds
(edited by Alpha.1308)
Everyone keeps pointing out the cap, because that is normally where people get confused, or happen to be mis-informed.
I apologize for not answering clearly, but I think Panhauramix explained it to satisfaction, which is just the general workings of DOT damage as it relates to stacking DOTS (bleed only).
The duration conditions (burn/poison) work differently (although without a damage or duration priority saddly). I won’t go into those as you didn’t ask.
Your original post was confusing as hell. You included epidemic in one heck of a round about way that didn’t really point to anything. And that’s why you confused everyone and their grandmother.
Each individual bleed in the stack has its own duration, damage and owner. There can be 2 bleeds on a target one doing 167 damage a tick and another bleed doing 50 damage. All depends on who put it on and under what stats they did so.
Since you included epidemic in original question, which I still have no idea why. Epidemic converts condition transferred as yours. And refer to post #2 for more details. In short version: duration of conditions is copied exactly as is while damage component, if present, is based on your condition damage.

You can only see your own damage with bleed ticks. What you see is what you did. What Rennoko said is correct. Epidemic bleeds are yours no matter who put them on your target. Bleeds over 25 become FIFO, at which point it hardly matters whose they are unless players realize the stack is maxed and adjust their skill mix to add more direct damage or different cinditions.
