can we please have an ICD on leave shroud?
This have been discused a huge amount of times. The best would be to bind enter Shroud on f1 and leave on f2, so flashing Shroud could be still a thing.
f1 and f2 sounds good.
for the accidental death to due mistakenly leaving shroud, i think i may have done that once before.
after that i learned not to press the f1 key more than once.

I agree with this. There are times when I want to spam death shroud When its almost off of CD and I’m being focused down in PvP only to have me hit the button just a fraction of a second too slow and die. Being able to spam it right when it becomes available would have saved me numerous times.
It is fine like it is. Some players still flash shroud, though there is less reason for me to do so anymore.
there is no argument against this now that most of the shroud flashing traits are gone. i think a 1 sec icd is fine. ele has an icd and they have tons of traits that encourage attune swapping. as for the dont spam f1 argument, thats always going to happen from time to time because thats what pressure does to people. if you say well dont feel pressured, then you a fool.

Most of the shroud flashing traits got improved, not taken away. I can’t think of a single one we lost.

No, there aren’t. There are plenty of situations where you need to use Shroud or you will die. Spamming is never necessary.

The “don’t spam suggestion” is ridiculous and yes it was discussed, f1-f2 is the best solution.

Actually, since the specialization system was introduced we got a lot more of those.
Beyond the Veil and Life from Death trigger when leaving Shroud, Blighter’s Boon for every boon applied by entering or leaving, every “when in Shroud” trait (Rending Shroud, Shrouded Removal, Unholy Sanctuary, Unholy Martyr) triggers its pulsing effect immediately upon entering, and we gained some flash-worthy features by having Shroud trigger swap sigils.
Also, comparing Shroud to attunements is ridiculous.
And accidentally double tapping f1 literally never happens to me, ever.

Let’s get one thing straight here: failing to press a key just once and at the right moment is a clear l2p issue.
A cooldown or a separate key for leaving Shroud would be nothing but an imposition for those who don’t have itchy trigger fingers.
A f1-f2 would indeed be nice. Like:
f1: Death Shroud
f2: normal form(whatever)
Instead of Enter/leave Shroud which looks ugly on chart :P
I’d love to see some sort of solution to this. Some of my worst deaths have been attributed to double-clicking death shroud while trying to jump from plague form into death shroud.

Correct! Just watch some pro gamers streaming. They are all spamming buttons for a reason. It minimizes reaction-/response times.

Tapping a key repeatedly to use a skill the instant it comes off CD is not spamming.
Using every skill the moment they come off CD or using just a few skills all the time is spamming. It is also face-rolling, keyboard mashing, and other terms of similar reputation.
Spamming examples are burning a stun break just because it is off CD or swapping weapons without a plan. Restraint on skill use until you really need them to counter, disengage, or burst takes lots of training time.
Why can’t the key be pressed once to queue it up to activate upon the next cool down? No spamming, no F2 needed to leave due to accidental spamming?
F1 on CD should activate it immediately upon CD unless it is pressed again to De-activate the queue.

Mixed feelings on this. On one hand always getting hard focused with tons of cc…easiest to just spam buttons here as you’re prob getting dazed over and over. That’s when I normally double tap shroud and either get myself killed or make my situation much much worse.
On the other hand, reaper mobility still sucks so it’s nice to be able to flash in and out of shroud for our pathetic gap closer. If you don’t flash back out you get caught by the 1 second hitch in the skill. Also our best projectile defense.
Like a half sec shroud cool down would prob work though. Stop most of the accidental double taps and still let us flash shroud.

there was that retal one in spite. coulda swore there were others, guess not. i think when they redid the trait system any sort of shroud flash build was destroyed cuz the traits were spread out more. im pretty sure i remember them being only in a couple traitlines. clearly my memory has a good track record haha.

actually, we have always had life from death and half the traits you listed are not for shroud flashing. comparing shroud to attunements is fine if you consider that both give you bonuses for activating them. you might lack a basic creative capacity, idk.
lol, i will attempt to re re re re inform you what the problem is. its lag. sometimes when you have lag and you press a button, nothing happens. how would another button be an imposition? other classes have 4-5 other buttons. since you are so good at not flashing shroud anyways, how would this effect you at all? oh noes such distance to this evil button that has ruined my epic 123 youre dead combo. lol. nah im not that serious man dont take this the wrong way.

Weakening shroud got improved
Foot in the grave got improved
life from death got improved.
Not sure if beyond the veil has gotten any better.
These traits have always been in their respective lines so not any more spread out so not too sure what you mean by flashing builds have been destroyed. If anything flashing builds have been buffed hugely due to improvements to the traits themselves as well as shroud proccing weapon swap sigils.

Lagging means you have a huge disadvantage over non-lagging players in general. Implementing a feature that circumvents double tapping a single skill by accident would not solve that problem. It’s like you have a broken leg, ask for a band-aid and then expect to be able to run a marathon.

“That retal one in Spite” was Spiteful Spirit, which is now a better version of what it used to be.
Also, Shroud flash builds have never existed in the first place. There was never a way to get more value from a high uptime of on-Shroud-traits than actually using Shroud for what it is.
Flashing Shroud, however, is something that people have done and still do because it is a valuable tool for cooldown and life force management. Nerfing that with a 1 sec (or however long) icd might seem like an awesome idea to a few people, but it would really just be training wheels for something that clearly works better without.
