complaining noob needs anti mesmer help
Watch for the one that is moving in a different pattern than any of the other clones or is using a different skill than just auto attack. Click on that one. I find that after each time a mesmer stealths, you have to be ready to click to target instead of relying on auto target or Tab targetting.

yeah… i know who the real mesmer is but being able to click on a moving teleporting asuran ammongst the cluster f of particles and my screen flashing and edges being blocked out from blind spam in time before they stealth again or i am bursted because i am concentrating on that instead of what is happening…. get the picture?

Then at that point it just requires practice. I don’t know what sort of answer you’re looking for, but it seems your struggle is derived (at least partly) from lack of experience. Just keep playing and you’ll get better at this type of fast-paced playstyle/battle dynamic. ^-^ it gets better I promise.
And if you’re running zerker, it’s better to just avoid being a vulnerable target for a stealthed mesmer to insta burst you down to 0 hp. You should try moving around and distancing/blocking yourselves from the clones if not killing them (prevents the mesmer from easily shattering you).

distance myself against a class that teleports around me placing clones or stands on the point attacking me with staff … ok. so short story is there is no way to target them other then point and click while they just face smash till they see you hit them =C and re stealth
i can hold a mesmer off for a while but thats about it.. can never kill one between removing blinds and standing still stunned on the spot
I just posted some thoughts on this in the mesmer forum so I’ll just copy and paste here with some added points for necros.
I think the OPness is that mesmers have high invis uptime, and a mimic skill that allows quick recharge of say blink, or invis, and a mantra(stun/cleanse/heal) that can be stored and used again in battle for up to 4-6 times(traited)
This is quite the insane disengage and sustain/damage depending on the mesmer’s build. However, I think that what it has done is made mesmers a lot more challenging to fight against now.
New tactics need to be used against them. For example, if they blink to create distance, dont run through their clones to get to them unless you got an instant gap closer available, run in the opposite direction. if they want the kill, make them work for it.
If they go invis, don’t random dodge/block because their invis uptime is very long and they can engage at any of those seconds. however, you could count to 5 and if they have not engaged, you may want to random dodge since their invis will be running out around that time or up to 8 seconds if they had invis using their elite.
Also when they appear from invis, don’t be too quick to hit them with a killer move because chances are they got an aegis up!
Use your shroud to tank when they burst from invis, but don’t be too eager to retaliate with a shroud fear. Use your shroud 4 and or 5 (to remove any blinds/aegis) and wait for him to dodge at least once before using your shroud 3/2.
Don’t try to burst on the first engage because he probably has at least 1 stun break and heal/cleanse. pressure him with autos on your first fear.
Try to burst him when you catch him with your 2nd shroud fear later although he probably still has a stun break (most mesmers run decoy and blink) or activate f4 shatter for invulnerability.
Most importantly against a mesmer if he blinks away from you, unless you are almost going to kill him with a couple of hits and are at a good HP/shroud status, don’t chase him through his clones. Run in the opposite direction and make him chase you if he wants the kill. especially if he is running mimic and had his blink recharged, if he wants the kill, he would have to use up the blink again to close the gap on you. So you can then turn around and attempt to fear and burst him again knowing that he cannot blink away from you again that quickly.
Edit: running the signet build will help you alot against condi mesmers. running the stun break on shroud trait and unblockable staff marks will help a lot against invis PU mesmers too who almost always come out of invis with aegis =/

I agree the changes to the targeting system have been troublesome and do not seem to add to QoL.
Go into Death Shroud, press 4, enjoy all that sweet life force (and healing if you have it traited).
For reals though, that’s been working well for me, though my build is focused on Death Shroud. But I’ve found my 4 will kill all the clones quick (usually before the mesmer can do anything to stop me), I get life force from all of them and the healing and I damage the mesmer at the same time. I don’t know if it’ll work as well for you, but give it a try.
