feast of corruption is too weak?
what is your power and attack at in that screenshot?
it does look really really low for how many conditions are on that mob and for it also being a crit… maybe it’s bugged also?
i was in WvW. and i was 80 level. i had very high powers. also it doesn’t do much damage in PvP zone.
I believe its because you are in lvl 16 gear. Plus fighting a gold mob with probably ( never done WvW before) alot of toughness, hence why your damage is weak. Yes the phantasmal warlock, has more dmg per condition, but thats all it has. It isnt always auto attacking/ lots of spells. Though that damage is a bit high. You should be fine doing Feast of corruption when in lvl 80 gear.
The skill looks good on paper, but in reality it’s not. It has 1 function and that is to give life force. Having a skill which scales with power on a weapon which is condition based truely baffles me. Yes I’m aware that it does more damage with conditions, but the standard condition build will leave you with 916 power (in PvP), so the raw damage this spell does is just pathetic, with 6 conditions the spell crits for maybe 1k.
It’s one of the most misplaced skills in the game, they should replace it with a skill that chills for 1sec and grants LF.
it isn’t great skill but for real level 80 in rare+ gear (with some power) it does atleast double that.. something 1.2k if target has few conditions atleast.. not superb but bit more direct damage than other attacks on scepter.
I really wish feast of corruption did something else besides just damage based on the conditions on the target. My idea has always been to change it so it still does damage based on conditions on the target but also gives you stacks of temporary + condition damage based on the number of conditions. Say for somewhere around 5 second duration and make the cooldown on the spell a little longer. That way scepter condition based necros get a skill that can effectively be used to give us a little bit of burst in the way of upping the dot damage we have on the target for a short period of time.
Just an idea.
Sometimes, when my target has more than 6 conditions on them, i do 2k crit dmg =D
Hopefully we get a base damage bump overall.
I’m not asking for warrior levels of dmg output… just… right now they easily hit 2~8k depending. While that 2k was the highest burst for me. (unless i pop into lich form and spam 1, of course…. but using lich form in WvW is faster than /wrist )

thief or warrior do 20k damages in short time. necromancer is too weak.
I’m in full exotics and I haven’t seen FoC crit for much than 1k. It’s really weak.
The key part of this skill is of course life force gain which powers the ever so important Death Shroud. That’s probably why the damage is as low as it is. I won’t argue that it could do with some increasing though, if only to see it change considerably with more conditions to more closely match other skills.

it doesn’t gain enough life force even if the target has 10 conditions. it is useless. i would take damage to gain life force or do something else instead of this skill.
Usually, I get more life force spamming 1 twice on the staff >_>
