how can you beat a bunker gaurdian?
I don’t think anyone with any class kill a good bunker 1v1
Imo corruption necromancer is one of the best, if not the best, antibunker in the game.
As with every 1v1 situation it depends on your and your opponent’s skill level and builds. Some builds have it easier to fight other builds. I think dps and poison with boon stripping is the best way to kill bunkers. Corrupt boon may be usefull but you need to time it (just after save your selves is one of the best moments to pull this off). If he has a signet you can stop his every healing attempt with ds 3 if he does not have stability (corrupt boon will change stability to fear so you can stop his heal this way if he is low on health).
I don’t suggest running onto the point straight ahead against bunkers as they often build them selves to be most powerful while holding a ground (= a capture point) and fighting in a small area.
Necros don’t have the burst damage needed to kill a bunker of any sort…
But mages, guardians, and engineers are capable of building bunkers that 5-10 people wouldn’t be a match for, so don’t feel too bad about it.
Playing the engineer “as intended” is simply not viable.

I don’t know if you play tPvP but if you are en experienced player you should know that no one can stand the damage of 5 people in one point for long without using invlunerables and doges. Once they are used, you will be dead. I play bunker guardian or antibunker necro with my guild mates in tPvP and yes, you can tank a lot of damage and I mean A LOT from 5 people but there is no way you can survive on the point without the help of your team. 1v5 will result in death in about… 15 seconds if I have all my skills ready.
With corrupt boon, engineers are actually the easiest ones to kill as they lack condition removals and do condition damage (which I throw back at them for even more damage). Elixirs are their best condition removals (elixir c) but it has a long cooldown.
You don’t need bursts to kill bunkers. Bursts can be usefull to execute them but they are not nessessary (in 1v1 fights). For gw2, like most games, tanks (bunkers in this case) are built to take bursts and the fastest way to kill them is high dps.
Last I checked, bunker builds were specifically built to counter burst, so the necro’s inability to do serious burst damage is not a strike against them in dealing with bunkers. Corrupt Boon or Well of Corruption are the best tools in the game for bunker busting.

I mostly do wpvp… I chased Nisha, with a D/D ele and a GS warrior, for 10 minutes one day before I realized who it was… When he finally turned and started to fight, I ported out, before getting schooled on the gap between the two most “underpowered” classes in the game.
The only reason people think engineers are as underpowered as we are, is because they can’t believe how bad we really are.

Poison is the bane of Guardians. It’s required if you want to beat a guardian bunker. Scepter is a good weapon for this.
Guardians can purge conditions rather easily, but not forever. If traited they have 2 condition removals every 10 seconds (on a clock they can’t control). With scepter you’re applying poison every 4 seconds (maybe 3 depending upon the full attack chain speed). A guardian will be without poison for 4 seconds at most if using the passive removals.
There are other removals too, like condition removal on shout and condition removal meditations. Depends upon their build, but no build is going to be 100% immune to conditions.
Use poison often, throw on other conditions, and you’ll win the war of attrition. Condition builds are the “paper” to the bunker build’s “rock”.
Its better to just leave them be, yes they can be beat but the time you just wasted on that bunker you could have already capped 2 more points. Unless you have your team to back you up, you’re only wasting everyone’s time including your own trying to take down the bunker.
~Surrender fiend and you will get an easy death
~I could promise you the same…but it would be a lie…
Any profession that can time their poison application well after applying some moderate damage will eventually wear a guardian down if he’s holding a point and refuses to leave. Also d/d eles.
With a good condi build you can beat a guardian bunker in 1v1 in 1-2 minutes without boons strip. With boons strip it’s much faster.
Mains Thief – Necro – Mesmer
Yes, over time a good condition necro should be able to wear down and eventually kill a bunker guardian 1v1. Of course, in tPvP, that’s time you rarely have.
I know its been said, but I’d try corrupt boon with poison cloud to cut down their regen and heals
