i just cant do it, they out sustain me no matter what i do then trololololololol with unrelenting assault the most lazy pathetic salt causing op skill i have ever seen this needs to change but i know it never will… the devs need a carrot to bait people to buy hot i guess

i do not hit them during glint heal if i can help it but even then they heal to full out of nowhere have 2 goes of crystal hibernation teleports and boons up the behind… with cc..

this is with a tank/power reaper

i had a go of condi and find it dies way too easy with horrific lf generation as usual.

im using axe/wh- gs if i don’t take axe people just stay out of range since everyone seems to have some viable ranged option these days and gs because why not?

would dagger/wh- staff really make that big of a difference?

Wait for the Nerf of “Coalescence of Ruin” to come into play, before Anet does anything to the most gamebreaking Weapen-skill ever introduced to this game you can forget about beating a Revenant.

Post-evade location manipulation and boon Corruption. Know when they are going to be ending their evade based attacks and position yourself to land important hits. You have more control of them when they use UA than they have of themselves, back them into a corner or near a ledge.

Make sure to have “Stow Weapon” assigned to a button that is easily reachable to limit the Glint heal.

I think so. Wayyyy more LF generation on d/wh than GS

A tank build running DM/SR/Reaper played aggressively against a (relatively) glassy Herald works well. You have such high toughness and base power that even out of shroud, everything you do hurts them a lot more than most of the things they do to you. And if you have enough life force, you’re even more durable and more powerful (you essentially get 14 non-disappearing stacks of might by going into shroud on a soldier build) and can rock their world. People seem to have trouble when the immovable object starts to move toward them.

(Side note: making a mesmer play defensively as a Reaper is amazing. Mwahahaha)

They die really quickly to conditions.

With this build you should focus on condi spike on him,try to play really aggresive,When he use the blocks try to daze with warhorn 4 or use your marks to hit him..you have 3 Boom Corruption From Signets try to use them when he has stability or might to reduce the his damage..

For crying out loud double dodge UA, hop into reaper/death shroud. Drop a well.

Wait…..your a necromancer……you do realize revenant is extremely weak to every single condition don’t you? Do you not have a single poison to crush there heal? No way to cause chill or bleeding?

Don’t blame another class. I myself have played revenant, and I have played against them. They are new to the game, it truly is a learn to play issue.

Once you get past UA which is on a 12 second cooldown I see no reason why they are a true threat.

Well only sustain Rev has the heal that heals them to full if you attack them in the duration.

Otherwise they have no sustain and condi cleanse, double dodge sword 3 and don’t east staff 5 then you are golden.

Killing Shiro/Glint Power Revs is a walk in the park with the following build:

He uses Shield Block?
>Wh4 interrupt

He tries to disengage?
>Axe2 > RS2 > RS5 >RS4

Glint Heal?
>stop attacking for 2 seconds and cast gravedigger, so that it hits immediately after his 3 sec dmg to heal conversion ends

When entering RS, the first skill you should use is RS3 for stability – everytime!

Use GS4+RS4+RS2 and RS5+RS4+RS2 combos as often as possible.

Use signet might to weakness conversion as often as possible (Unrelenting Assault grants him might – use that for your advantage!).

You have incredible LF generation outside of RS and incredible Heal + LF Generation when autoattacking in RS. You can outsustain him very easy. Chill of Death proc will hit hard because of his boons. High chill uptime will mess up his rotation.

I have played a lot of revenant in the past week. I have played necro more than any other profession. Whenever I am playing my revenant, and I am thinking to myself, a necro with a condi build would tear me apart.

But there’s more, to respond to where you moved the goalpost to.

How not to die to a revenant? Play a revenant for a while. You’ll learn that revenants are also weak to terrain. Coalescence of Ruins (the dreaded hammer 2) and Unrelenting Assault (dreaded sword 3) are both severely affected by terrain. By playing a revenant I have learned what stairs, walls, ramps, little pebbles on the ground, do to those two attacks. That also means I know how to close distance on a revenant using sword or hammer and take much less, even zero, damage from those two powers without using any of my own powers.

Using terrain may not help one who is trying to hold a point, but it will help just about every where else.

People generally prefer to cry for nerfs instead of improving themselves and trying to change strats.

I’m a trash PvPer who likes to try out stuff there and it just takes a bit to get used to Revenants. This applies to every elite spec too.
Not going to say that there’s no balancing required among all those new skills and synergies, because that’s certainly necessary, but wanting to nerf everything into oblivion is just… ugh.

Is this a troll post or is the OP serious? Let me lay it out for you.

1. Apply Condies to Revenant.
2. Enter Reaper Shroud and apply more condies.
3. Afk and get a drink, text your girlfriend, or rub one out.
4. ?
5. Profit.

Revenants have TERRIBLE condie removal outside of Malyx. And guess what? No one freaking runs Malyx because they broke the god kitten line. 95% of the Revenants you will face will be power based and won’t run Malyx, the other 5% may run it but you should still be able to kill them with little to no effort at all. I don’t fight Necros when I play my Revenant as it’s just going to end with me dead. I see that you’re a power spec, dodge UA as it’s SO easily telegraphed, Hammer skills can be easily dodged as well except for maybe Hammer 2. It’s not hard at all man.
