lets talk about spectral wall
I do agree however, personally I guess anyway, I’d rather just have the Protection time increase by 2 seconds.
Champion: Phantom, Hunter, Legionnaire, Genius
WvW rank: Diamond Colonel | Maguuma
Spectral Wall I feel is fine, though the field size could perhaps be looked at again. So many times I blast my wall and get…nothing.
Yeah, Necro blasts aren’t the most reliable, but when Putrid Mark is centered on the wall, I should get my chaos armor when it triggers.
Projectile blocking should go on CPC first.
Im sure rangers would “love” more reflection, it already seems the game is trolling them quite a bit from their perspective. But necros are the only ones without some means to block projectiles, would be nice to have it block at least (or some ability).
Would be cool to have the fear affect not only apply to people passing the wall but attacking through it, probably OP though
alts: Fangyre (Necro), Hardrawk (Ele);
Jade Quarry
Necromancer should have something, anything, to counter projectiles. It doesn’t have to be GOOD, it just has to exist. We are just hard countered with no defenses against the most basic, obvious build in the game.
A lot of us suggested the toxic Krait reflect bubble (Basically the old engineer shield reflect that rooted you)
But Poison Cloud or spectral wall would work too.
As for spectral wall itself. Right now it is godly in WvW, terrible in pvE, and bad in Pvp. It could use a buff, but at least it has a good use.
It’ll be more valuable once the stability changes hit. All wall skills will be. Once the changes come in, adding more utility to the wall may be too much.
I’d much rather see it attached to poison cloud. Have it pulse a buff called lingering cloud that makes all projectiles be destroyed on contact. That way it could act as a group utility skill too and have some effect after you leave the cloud so it doesn’t impact what limited mobility the necro already has.
Alternatively, just attach more utility to Deaathshroud and make a trait that allows you to destroy projectiles for 3 seconds when entering Deathshroud. Siphoned Power has to be one of the worst traits in the game, so that would be a suitable option.

I disagree.
It will still be worthless PvE (mobs aren’t moving in stacking dungeon encounters. The best PvE use is actually for stacking confusion).
It will still be worthless Pvp (takes too long to get protection which lasts too short, and the fear is trivial to avoid)
It might be better in WvW where it is already godly.
Leave the wall alone for now. You have no idea how fun it is to put someone in “time out” mode by making them go stand in the corner like the bad little kids do in school.

It would just do too many things at once if you simply add reflect to it. For now, I’m happy with its function in eotm.
I would love reflect on necro but on other skills.
Reflect would make it too similar to Wall of Reflection, I think. And probably be OP considering the other uses it has (where WoR is reflection and nothing else).
MAYBE projectile blocking, though. Or maybe with all this crazy “new tech” they seem to be coming up with, they could do something a little more interesting, like make projectiles that pass through the wall do half damage and proc Protection on the target (with an ICD of a second or two to keep it from being insane). Or perhaps do half damage to the player it hits and the other half would be dealt back to the original attacker
I wish it was taller.
It’s pretty obvious, and nobody’s impressed.
Eh spectral wall is more or less fine. The size could use a bit of a boost though.
If any necro skill should destroy projectiles it should be corrosive poison cloud.
I think wall is pretty good as is. Lots of protection, potential for fear, life force, it is a good skill that has decent synergy. If anything make the field thicker so finishers can actually be used on it.

Although there’s a way to make things like putrid mark work better on it, I agree that it’s too thin and not as reliable as it should be in terms of blasting it for chaos armor, especially mid-fight.
Other than that, the skill is amazing.
It’s true that Necros have close to 0 defense against things like longbow rangers… but that issue is a bit bigger than simply a Necro problem. Longbow rangers are wildly OP in WvW… or at least outnumbered fights which happen… always. Stealth traps, sic’ em, longbow rangers, entangle already make roaming very annoying at times. A group of 10 can’t kill 2 thieves so they place down a stealth trap or swap to sick em. No skill so have to use an insta-win button -_-. 3 sic’ em in a row when you’re a stealth class is basically the same as getting Moad, except it’s a utility skill with a much shorter cooldown. Eating two entangles with your Necro in an outnumbered fight, getting rapid fired by 3 rangers simultaneously from 1500 range while fire and air sigils happily trigger (or while you’re entangled). I went off-topic but really meant to say I think Necros not having any ranged defense would have been OK… if rangers weren’t so OP. Minimum risk, maximum reward. I hope the expansion brings more tools for Necros to deal with that.
