minion master ?
I generally shy away from minion master in WvW for several reasons.
#1: The large amount of AoE and large scale fights will end up killing minions quite quickly.
#2: A lot of combat is off of different heights, from on cliffs to walls. Here, minions can’t engage the enemy that effectively.
#3: Other players are almost always specced for high mobility and high stealth, making it easy for them to get away from minions in a wide open area.
In general, minions have the most trouble with mesmers and thieves, because their stealth constantly resets the minion’s aggro. There are some places where minions can be useful, but mostly it is just using flesh golem while solo roaming. I see other players with minions all the time, but for me minions never really preformed well.
In WvWvW getting greater marks and running ground targetable wells would probably be more useful than minions.

The only time you would be using minions in WvW is if you are soloing camps (or other small fights), or for funsies with the massive MM zergs that people have tried. Also, while they do have trouble with thieves/mesmers with all the resets, if you are on top of your game you can overcome that. Also, Flesh Wurm has stealth hax and ignores stealth atm.

I’m running MM in WvW around 30k HP and minions that suck up HP I am almost unkillable in most situations. I’m REALLY enjoying it so far.

For smaller battles (zergs not recommended, since even if we ignore the aoe problem, you’d be swapping targets too often for your minions to keep up), a power based MM build would look something like this:
20/x/20/20/x, with the remaining points going to Spite, Death or Blood. You’ll want Training of the Master, Flesh of the Master and Vampiric Master, the rest of the traits are optional.
Weapons wise, some combination of staff, axe/x and dagger/x is what you want, though personally I never go anywhere without my staff. Off hand weapons are a matter of personal preference.
For gear, I’d go with Soldier’s. Your minions already deal a decent amount of damage independently of your stats, so going full offence won’t benefit as much as it does on a more direct build; you’ll just end up being squishy yourself. Some also go with clerics, but I find the extra health more beneficial, especially since it increases your life force pool.
Skills should obviously be minions.
