minion question
1. Minion damage does not scale with your own stats, only your condition damage/duration affects the conditions they apply
2. Yes, but again not based on your stats, they each have innate crit chance/damage stats
3. Soldier/clerics is best (power/vitality/toughness or healing power/toughness/power)
4. Yes but I’d only advise it in PvE with a non-full minion build
5. Technically yes, but you also have staff 4, dagger 4, lyssa runes, and fetid consumption (possibly) to remove conditions
Minions are really only suited for entire MM zergs (a whole zerg of all mms), or roaming. A generic build is 20/0/30/20/0
I saw that minion master zerg on youtube. it was crazy :p
hi Bhawb
thanks for the information, it do help a lot. i have a necro on pvp using zerker mix minion, it did quite well just not sure if can use on WvW,
i use full zerker gear, Axe+dagger/dagger+warhorn
Trait: 0/10(IV)/30(III)(X)(XI)/0/20(II)(III)
Skill: 4 minion + (Consume Conditions) or should i use (Blood Fiend)
if use on WvW should i change Axe+dagger to staff?
thanks
I WvW on my MM and will give my layman’s advice Jun Yang.
Either heal skill will work in WvW. If conditions are hitting you hard quite often, use CC. Otherwise, I like Blood Fiend because a lot of times, opponents tend to forget it. So it’s making attacks and leeching for you. If you get in an emergency situation, blow him up for a small heal. If you’ve got the trait for minion skill cooldowns (and I’d recommend you do), you’ll get the BF back up pretty quickly again.
I use a dagger/dagger (style preference) and staff combo. I tried playing without the staff but found I have to have it, particularly for thieves, which as a roamer, you’ll see lots of. Staff and Axe/Focus or Warhorn would be better though. However, I like Dagger offhand for the condition removal since I don’t have that many of them elsewhere.
You’ll want Soldier’s or Clerics for WvW. Zerker will make you too squishy, plus you won’t be getting a very high score of critical hit chance/damage anyways since you aren’t traiting into it. And with the incoming crit damage nerf, it’ll be even more noticeable. I tried making a zerker build and found that the survival (ie Vit/Tough) falls down to some really low numbers for just a passable amount of crit chance/damage. It wasn’t worth it imo.
