i play a minion master and obviously my ulti is the flesh golem. the problem i have is that the golem cant swim…. i can understand not being able to summon a flesh wurm underwater but every other minion can swim why cant the golem. it sucks too cause when i have him out and i get pushed into the water. i have to wait for the CD and re summon the lil tucker. and also i dont see why charge cant be used underwater. if the under water mechanic uses an xyz plane then charge shouldn’t be a problem. just make him go in a ray. (high school geometry ftw)
ps i really enjoy plague but if i traited for minions i want minions; land and water…

I remember Jon mentioned how they wanted to do something about flesh golem underwater, I think he mentioned that they wanted to make it able to swim but couldn’t for X reason, I might be wrong though.

It’s still incredibly stupid that the only elite you can use underwater kills your minions. So if you do actually play with minions, you either can’t use them underwater, or can’t use an elite.

Also annoying as hell that every time I step into ankle-high water my flesh golem goes on a 60s recharge.

I feel like whoever designed Necro, never actually played it. It just feels like Necro is a compilation of pen and paper notes thrown into the lap of someone who would rather play a Warrior.

Everything seems reasonable on paper but the whole summoning part of being a necro is the base of the model, not an addition to it. So the train of thought that brought us to long cooldowns on temp minions that have no impact even when spending every available trait point on them… does not seem to have come from someone who plays a Necro. At least not any Necro in any game I have played since Everquest.

Necromancer’s Minions being destroyed when changing forms is something that will eventually be fixed.
I remember somebody from Arenanet commenting on it before.

With that said it’s annoying how Flesh Golem won’t work Underwater.
It’d be pretty neat if the Fleshie got automatically replaced by an Undead Kraken or something while underwater…

It can be replaced by kraken , but making flesh golem amphibian is much better( like all minions ). They can also replace the wurm with snake( underwater ).

Yes, you are correct they are intended to go away underwater and under Moa along with more ‘situation.’ Anet keeps telling people they are minions and not pets but people want pets!

Nope. Anet put that as a disclaimer in the mean time. I think Jon mentioned how they don’t want elite forms killing minions and they want the flesh golem working underwater. The main issue they have is coding around how skill bars work.

When you swap skills it’s supposed to kill minions to prevent people from spawning them and simply equipping another utility. However when you transform it swaps all of your skills, killing all of your minions. This also applies to going underwater. Anet is working on the coding so the elite transformations (I don’t know about moa) don’t cause this to happen and so that the flesh golem can go underwater.
