no patch today?
Given that they are running their halloween event at present, i suspect there will be no patch. This because the last act of the event starts on the 31. and so they are likely all focused of getting it working as smoothly as possible.
A thread discussing developer attention (or lack thereof) to the problems of our class seems rather important, and of meaning to this subforum, but hey, it took them three days just for the mod to notice it, so that says something.
On topic, if the issues we have as a class are that much of an issue for you, bar playing another class just come back to the game in a few (possibly many) months time – sooner or later they will get around to these problems, and since we’re not paying them for our time, stepping away until it’s in better shape is perfectly fine. Just don’t go expecting lots of fixes in the next patch, it’s a surefire way to be disappointed.
Hey mates!
I did another thread called Ignore Mode: ON v2.0 after they locked the original one today. And it lasted about 5 minutes? I wrote it, went to eat something, came back and it wasn’t there. Evenmore, they sent me some PM warning me about doing another topic like those. So I will wait some days and then I’ll make Ignore Mode: ON v3.0, they will not stop me for telling the truth.
They really need to know they dissapointed the 80-90% of their necromancer player base. And is UNACCEPTABLE that we have more that 60 bugs today, 2 months since release (some of those bugs are pretty big, like Hunger attribute being totally useless).
We have been asking for an update since release and we had nothing, didn`t you expect this rage from necromancers ArenaNet? Patience have a limit. That limit is over for almost every necromancer.
We are not asking for “buff my profession so I can destroy everyone pressing 1 button plz”, we are asking to get bugs fixed, to get an update of what are you doing to solve our problems. We are asking for some reason to keep playing this game. Someone may say roll another profession, I did, but soo many people are not altoholic and if they like a certain profession, they’ll stick to it but stick to something broken is not FUN.
PS.: I’m playing again League of Legends and Skyrim until they fix necromancer and do PvP an entertaining play mode (but that is another story)

Its strange, that they actually come here to lock the topics instead of coming here and talking to people – I cant seem to find red post in this forum for 13 pages…
I have quit, its quite obvious cash grab halloween events (yes I know they need some sort of revenue for a f2p game) but fix the game first. LoL skipped the halloween event because they are trying to make the 3v3map more competitive. They want there game even better before doing events/skin changes. Anyways as the second poster said, ill be lurking but ill be back when or if we get fixed.
i was hoping for a patch too… i played in the beta weekends and 3 day headstart… the bug fixes are rather slow and the bot issue is getting out of control.. .. i am thinking about switching to another game..there is less headache..
Ithir, the mods on this forum are not the game designers and devs :P they’re just forum mods, possibly unrelated to Anet, and even if they left the threads up they can’t do anything to help. If you keep creating threads after you’ve been asked to stop it just comes off as whiny, the mods are just following the rules. The more of these threads that are created, the less likely Anet is to post here IMO. Vicious cycle etc.
The primary purpose of these forums is not communication with Anet, it is to discuss the game with other players. If Anet employees want to post, that’s great. But I don’t like it when developer interaction becomes expected, like it’s our right that they post here, rather than an occasional cool thing.

I know that for sure, but I will follow this thought: the more threads we make, the more possibilities we have to get some dev attention.
Alright. GL with the mods, and here’s to hoping we get a red post soon.

Its a viscious cycle they created with the LACK of communication. Where do we go to communicate with them then?
Actually the less likely it is. The more threads you make the more frequently mods will browse the forum sweeping it off. The rules of conduct even state:
Do not engage in staff call-outs. Using the words “ArenaNet” or any staff member’s name will not expedite the answer to your query.
So you are not doing anybody a favour, you’re just basically working your way towards a ban of some type by blatently ignoring the rules you agreed to when you initially signed into this forum. The very same terms of service agreement we all did.
Secondly as state, the mods on these forums are not devs. There is no correlation that they even communicate with the Devs when these issues arise. Their job is to maintain the codes of conducts listed on the rules page. That is it.
Finally I would very much appreciate it if you stopped using such grossly over generalized words such as “90% of the necros are fed up with it”. You do not speak for me, or for that matter the entire Necromancer community. I played the Necromancer for a full month before going off to Europe and would be playing it right now if my crappy little net book could handle it. Am I impressed with the bugs? Nope. Should the game have been released in its current state? Probably not, but I suspect that it was a Publishers decision more so than Anets.
Lastly, and I mean this to be as polite as possible, if you do not enjoy the class I would wholly endorse playing another one to see if you enjoy it. If you don’t, do what I’m doing and take a hiatus (albeit my hiatus is not exactly by choice), and come back in a few months. As has been mentioned, this game isn’t a subscription based game, I think we’re all obliged to go and do something while this class gets its bugs worked out.
And last but not least, can we PLEASE stop these Dev call out threads? They’re against the rules. That’s the gist of it. Make a support ticket if you don’t like it to see if they’ll change it. However continually making them isn’t going to do a thing. I didn’t even know you had made a 2.0 thread, and I highly doubt anybody in the Dev team knows either.
Its a viscious cycle they created with the LACK of communication. Where do we go to communicate with them then?
The definition of a vicious cycle is that both sides created and perpetuate it :P
As for contacting them, I don’t know. Call them. Send them a letter or email. Coordinate with others on the forum to see if someone lives near Anet offices so they can go there directly. Use the in-game bug report feature to report each of the bugs in the stickied bug list just in case they aren’t using the list.
Or maybe there isn’t one, which I think is a good thing. I wouldn’t want to deal with the amount of vitrol some games’ forums can put out either.

It´s really a declaration of bankruptcy in terms of giving response to the community. Constructive feedback is getting ignored. Now when people get ignored, people ask for attention or any kind of response, these threads are getting locked. And some people have the faith calling his holyness Mr. Jon “the Death Shroud” Peters for help, guess what, these threads are getting ninja deleted by the moderators in their helplessness.

That’s the matter. I agree with every point you exposed there. Patience is over for most of us.
I know some people will still have it and some people who still enjoy playing a broken profession, but facts are facts, we have a huge bug list and I know they probably are working on all of them but why they don´t give us an update just like they did with rangers?
Don’t miss the update point, and I’m looking to you Ratphink, I agree with most of your points as well but seriously, keep an eye on the necromancer forum and come back here again and tell us I’m wrong about the 90% dissapointment thing. I think every necromancer (those who still enjoy it and those who started to hate to play with bugmancer like me) agrees on that we need an update. Or am I terrible confused and I just dreamed all those topics in the forum?

I honestly think we should start sending physical letters in the mail.

I agree that we need a bunch of bug fixes and that we could use an update.
But when you say “90%” or “most of us” you’re referring to the forum community. The best statistic I have seen for forum involvement of any game was like 10%, meaning that 10% of the game’s active players are also active on the forum. The other 90% are busy playing the game and having fun, probably noticing the same issues, but not so down about them that they would take the time to post here. 90% of 10% is 9%.
So yes, the necro forum community is unhappy, but that is not necessarily representative of the necro community as a whole.

I can say the same about of your 10% number, where did it come? XD
The people you claim that are in game and not here (of course they must be a lot) are upset as well. Try it out, go to Lion’s Arch or Heart of the Mists (better go here) and ask for how many necromancers are there.
We have tons of bugs, that’s a fact. Of course there are plenty people who still enjoy bugmancer (I’ve never said the opposite) but that doesn’t make devs free of keeping their fanbase happy, or at least keep them informed. The thing that disturbs me more is the fact that they did an update for ranger at beginning of Halloween event. We are asking for the same thing and what do we get? Moved posts from general forum to here, and those posts we make here are deleted or close without any reponse from the devs, that’s my friends is what they call transparency?
I honestly think we should start sending physical letters in the mail.

I’m in full support of this. This weekend I will copy paste the bug thread and physically mail it to them. I’ll also send another one in regards to the game as a whole. November content patch says they will be adding a new content to the map, pve mode (w/e that is) etc etc. I don’t see bug fixes in that list, w3 hack and exploit fixes or bot problems. My second mail will be adressing this. All are welcome to join me in the physical mail awareness!
/signed on the snail mail idea.
Having been a forum moderator on other sites, I will say right now that whenever people start toting to speak for the people I not only grow skeptical I just flat out brush them under the rug. Your voice is your own voice. Not mine, nor anybody else’s. As such, I just don’t like it when people start taking on the mantle as “fighting for the people” because frankly the number of people they fight for are usually far smaller than they’d like to believe.
HOWEVER! My innate skepticism aside, I would actually urge every single person who is not happy with the state of the Necromancer to mail their concern to the Anet offices. It is hands down the most constructive idea posted on this board. Not only that but again, I will iterate that posting call outs the devs is not allowed on the board. Probably because they are likely spending the majority of their time working on the game. Not reading forums. Companies usually frown on that. However their mailbox is there for a reason. You should all use it.
Mass effect fans sent cupcakes to bioware’s office in the colors of the different terrible endings. We should send them a Halloween themed cake covered in bugs.

The bugs should be physical too, and when they pick them off the cake they start to see this picture.
Edit: By “physical” I mean, like, candy. Not the real things.

Bahahahah
A necromancer pictured cake covered in bugs. I like it!
Since not even half our class works, should the cake be at least half etible?
what company delivers cakes?
this is the most brilliant idea ever… more revolutionary than when man made fire….
@Onedoesnotsimply
It would probably help our cause for it it be tasty! XD

That’s why I hate subscription free games, devs can just ignore you after release, because you can’t vote with your wallet. And they always do.
Well, after some major disappointments in the past I was like ‘I will never ever play an f2p game again’, but GW2 seemed too good to miss.. eh, got caught by their marketing, shame on me.
Now I quit too, necro is too annoying to play in it’s current state. Tried other classes, most of them are way too easy and not my play style in general.
There are a couple of cake shops within 20 minutes of Anet headquarters, according to Google.
Any of us that live in Washington could get together and go picket protest in front of their offices lol.
