power wells wvw group build
Not sure taking a zerk based build traited for DS is the best platform for a wells build.

what would you recommend changing?
Moving that 30 from SR and split 10 into DM for well protection and 20 into BM for well recharge might be more useful.

This is what I am currently running. This works really good if you play it right. Also works great in spvp with a zerker trinket. Just remember a few basic principles: wh+wells siphons can be used two ways: if you are out of life force, the life steals will counter incoming dmg and the crits + WH will fill your life bar back up. If your DS bar is full, you can drop the combo and go into DS for DS 5+4 and piercing life blasts for even more aoe pain. If you REALLY want to fk the enemy up, you can drop wells+wh on top of a enemy and then immediately go into lich form…. >;)
Also I keep dagger offhand as alternate in case I get overloaded with conditions or my warhorn skills are on CD.
This build doesn’t have 100% swiftness on its own but its close. Well of Power can give you over a minute of swiftness in the right circumstances and of course you can get swiftness from other team mates and maintain it with your warhorn.
see i love 30/30 builds but in PvE/sPvP only,
for wvw zerg fights with 19K HP & 2200 armor and making myself rally bot oh please no !
since necro have almost zero defensive tools and bad mobility believe me you don’t want to go offensive DS and waste your last & only escape ticket
better to go with Acsii build which is 0/25/25/20/0 (don’t try to roam with it)
or 0/20/0/20/30 to push hard with melee train by using warhorn #5 and spamming your DS to gain stability and fury
Knight armor with melandru runes + lemongrass food + get yourself organized guild/group… oh yeah don’t forget your salvage kit tool also
you can also run full zerker trinkets if you are experienced WvW player or full PVT set if you want to be more tanky, but tbh i advise commanders only to go with PVT

switched the traits up a bit, i guess what i want to do is spam wells and go ds into the melee train when necessary. changing the traits up a bit gives me 2300+ armor and 21K+ health
Hmmm a couple of things i’d suggest:
1) Chilling darkness is insane good with plague form + well of darkness.
2) Staff recharge really isnt all that great, neither is the minor traits in that line. You should be using staff to tag, blast your wells for area blind (plus chill), and basically add filler dps. The majority of your time should be used in DS, plague, or dropping wells. Rinse repeat.
3) I’ve been playing with FITG and asking around, and the general concensus is that it really isnt all that great. You cannot predict when you’re about to get CC’d so it doesnt help all that much
4) Deathly perception is insane awesome especially if you drop wells, enter DS and watch everything crit all day long + life transfer damage
5) If traited that heavily into DS, you might as well get Unyielding blast, really good DPS filler
Remember that its good to be able to change gear/traits according to the situation. e.g. if you are kicking butt and taking names, bring on the full dps set. If you’re getting squished like a bug or fighting an uphill battle, throw on some tankier gear and trait for more siphoning.
This is my DPS trait selection, and i really enjoy it:
[GoF] Smiks – Guardian/Necro
Thief/Mesmer Alts
Thats the ultimate WvW build – WvW build
Variations are:
- Ruby Orbs instead of Melandru for more dmg and less survivability
- A bit less dmg with 20 in Curses, none in Death Magic and 20 in Bloody Magic – Wells recharge and Life Transfer heals
- Swap 1 (max 2) jewels for PTV
Gameplay: Darkness goes on the first engagement to make them use their cleanses. Corruption and Suffering can go on the first push as well but can be easily kited. Open with Staff #2 and 3,swap,wells go down, Axe #3, DS – Tainted Shackles, Fear. Enfeebling Blood dagger#5 then use 4, Plague – aoe blind (spam #2), Axe 3, dagger #4, swap, staff #2,3 (Wells should be up so cast them), 4 into the wells then 5, swap.
You can use Life Transfer before Plague and wells if you run recharge and they r up. Dont stay too much on the same weapon or DS. Your guild should focus Guard’s pulls and warrios Hammerstuns with necros wells (other classes short lasting, high dmg skills too) to do proper “bombing” and thus use you effectively. Use DS more often but not on every cooldown or you’ll get caught and die because its on cooldwon and you cant absorb the dmg (no stunbreakers and Plague is on cd). Remember DS gives you fury, stability and Weakness… self sustain that. Use Consume Conditions at ~18k HP (unless you are about to regroup and heal up)
If you are fighting many you can save up Plague for chokes and “when the kitten hits the fan” moments but highly unlikely with Melandru runes on.
Play as Mage.

My DS focused Power Wells build for large group combat with the exact gear. Going full Ascended on the armor gains a decent chunk of Toughness with the infusions if you have the gold/stomach to craft a full set.
I find 2,700 armor to be just fine, especially running Melandru+Lemongrass and of course proper use of DS and Plague form. This build focuses on 100% crit in DS after dropping WoS, and of course boon/condi management and other forms of stack disruption.
[KnT] – Blackgate
Great stats Liquid. I’ve been messing around with my stats and I’m not quite sure which way to go. Atm I’m using orbs haha, but melandru does seem the way to go.
Keep on zerkin’.
0/20/0/20/30
Great survivability, good group support(blind, chill, DS4 heal, boon strip, cripple etc,
Decent DPS and most important of all 50% fury and stability up time (flashing DS)
Tamoko Chan ~ (Necro)

BTW side note anyone who has a ds dancing build hasnt been in fractals 30/in mistlocks
