pvp matches u see atleast 2-3 necros
definitely not because theyre op or a clicker safe class man its cause necros are cool
1) theyre OP.
The power creep train has been going for a while. The op dmg is about equal to the op defenses we now got, tho im definetly up for big shaves.
Otherwise theyre not exactly gamebreaking and are just a normal must have part of the meta, you can reliably beat them.
What i mean is the top5-6 classes all sticking out together and about equally.
2) Clicker safe class
a) yes it is super annoying having a low skilled enemy which stil produces medium good resuts on the battlefield. Counter argument is its still a noob behind the wheels and now you know which spot your PVE friend gets.
b) if youre in clicker enemy range, theres good news. You can move out of that range with minmal improvements. Tho youll face stacked classes everywhere, i havent got a confirmation but the stacking part of MM seems to be slacking.
3) Necros are cool
Rock on!

1 we are not op
our power damage is mediocre our condi is good now
2 if you just clikc you die as a necro you die
3 our defences are not op
The interesting thing about Necromancer – something that I’m just starting to realize right now – is that their current iteration and role in the meta is countered not by a specific build or class, but rather team coordination and strategy.
In lower brackets, Reapers dominate everybody due to pug teams just not having the coordination or know-how to properly focus fire, kite, peel, and zone. Unlike Revenant, Tempest, and Dragon Hunter (the other three oft-complained-about classes), who all have something you can shoehorn into a build to “counter” them (unblockables, chill/burst, and anti-projectiles, respectively), no amount of condition clear will necessarily make Necromancer fights free wins. This, I think, is by design.
The sad reality is that Necromancer stomps less skilled/coordinated players, much like Dragonhunter (though they don’t drop off as hard). However, they are also necessary due to the prevalence of boom spamming, etc. Everything is terrible.
Well the next reaper OP thread. Ok let’s do logic exercise, would you put a high boon uptime, low condi cleanse build against a boon eating condition applying build? Because that’s what most matchup with a reaper are, much boons low condi cleanse. A symptom of HoT, low condi cleanse in exchange for elite specs.
there are only 4 classes currently being played to the point of exploitation scrappers reaper tempest revenant plz fix this game ive been playing since launch, my first build was hgh condi engi back in the day I really hate how a necro can click his way to legend plz lower the bunking power and insane number of condi duration and the ability to sustain while hitting 8k stupid pet atk

This is because they nerfed the hell out of the other classes with the changes for HoT, example Thief was my main but no longer useful to me without ricochet, til it comes back my thief will be moth balled in storage forever.
Mesmer also got it hard too with chronomancer, and and even worse off is Temptest is a joke,.. a bad one at that.
So why fix something that is working rather fixing what has been broken in the other professions to instead make them more viable.
my opinion is they need to lower all classes. gw2 in 2012 we had quick condi burst and normal burst but not as much as now they need to tone this down here both in dps and condi
past and present, necro has one weakness…..stability
all u have to do is cc the kitten out of necro and necro will become kitten
Henge of Denravi Server

Do you know what CC is? Because proper CC kittens a Necro.
Also, one of the reasons Necro is one of the stronger classes currently is because conditions are stupidly strong and almost every class has what feels like a boon-output of 10 per second
I hardly see any necros in diamond. Just scrappers and druids.
The necromancer class is only “op” when facing completely inexperienced players who have no idea what they are doing. This leads to the class being perceived as op and even more low skill players start using it which keeps the necro population high in pvp and in turn leads to a ton of forum posts hating on the “necro stacking”.
My own limited pvp experience in this game has proven beyond a doubt that you only need to play the class you deem too strong yourself and see how you fare vs people who actually know their game.
Necros/Reapers can be wiped out the moment they arrive on point with heavy cc or heavy direct damage. In turn they cant burst anyone down in 3 seconds from 1000 feet away like some other classes can and they need to build up lifeforce if they are to survive a longer fight.
While I played as a reaper there was this DH who kept killing me. I have an old guardian so I went to the mists, specced him for longbow and played a few games. Needless to say I sucked.
Bottom line, any new or simply bad player can see any other class including his own as overpowered if he doesnt know how to fight against it. I get that this thread is not another anti-necro thread btw, Im just fed up with the hate of late
I’m sick of ppl saying that necro can get cced easy they have 8 sec of PULSING 3 STAB every 17 sec that’s 8 sec of cc Immunity every 9 sec also they have a stab shout and a stab trait also teef cant burst down a necro with rise up I don’t want necro to be destroyed hell just shave it a but like with the sheer amount of convert they have or maybe making changing the 8 sec of pulsing stab to a 10 sec 3 stab so it can have some counter play
^ the stability only works in shroud… which means the Reaper is melee and can be kited. Not to mention he CC spam when you’re melee is insane. Either way, another Necro loooooves when you use your RS#3… just corrupt and keep fearing the poor guy
Sure, I play Necro and Rev but I fail to see how necros are an issue, especially when they stack on a team. A good tempest can reduce reaper dps by a poop ton…

A good tempest dies versus a reaper, no matter what… at me in 8-15 seconds! So good luck being a tempest!
Eh the main problem with necro is life/shroud force and how it works & how it originated.
To understand the problem you must first know that life force & shroud was originally designed as the classes downed skill mechanic.
It was then changed to what it currently is at the last moment before launch.
But the problem is the shroud granted scales horribly vs multiple enemies but extremely well vs single opponents (especially if you start a fight with life force built up)
This is because instead of negating a set % of damage for a set amount of time it consumes life force (it also degenerates naturally) in place of health as you take damage.
This alone makes the necro strong 1v1 and weaker 1v multiple (where enemies can coordinate)
It only gets worse considering the fact that when you spawn life force starts out at 0% and the total amount of life force you can have does not increase when fighting multiple enemies.
So all in all life force/shroud is a neat mechanic but a badly flawed one because its great vs uncoordinated but crap vs coordinated.

Depends if it is a condi reaper or power reaper.
VS a power reaper you have a chance small as it may be.
Vs condi however your small chance just goes to near nill.
As I pointed out above the necro’s real weakness is how shroud/life force mechanic works & scales.
As-is in pro leagues, teams are not stacking any classes, definitely not necros. If you want to talk about op, think in the past when teams stacked mes, eles, or in recent memory revs. So while yes it’s annoying to see so many reapers in unranked/ranked. Truth is they aren’t too strong to stack them, otherwise pro league teams would be stacking them.
The best option 2 condi rev, 1 condi reaper ( not with all the crap meta signets, just only plague signet ), 1 soldier rune full shout ele, and a condi mesmer, and won

they’re not stacking classes because for season 2 you’re not allowed to stack any classes…

While that’s true, in the finals the only class stacked was revs. Just stating that necros were not stacked when they were able to be stacked.
And I should’ve clarified I wasn’t talking just about pro league tournament, but also higher tier ranked. You’ll find pro league teams and pre-mades not stacking necros.
