I was actually wondering the same thing as well seems both are viable.
What if the chill dmg from trait scales with condi dmg though maybe sinister is a good choice.

Does not look like chill will do much damage or stack, I’m thinking power reaper will be the best choice.

Thing is due to reapers attack speed condi reaper may be decent. But it won’t JUST be from chill but from a collection of different things. Chill will just be one part of it.

I can’t really say for certain, but a reaper shroud Reaper with Dhuumfire sounds good on paper, saving they don’t nerf Dhuumfire or burning into the ground. Just thinking of a condi necro with Dhuumfire and Reaper’s onslaught does however give me the giggles considering how strong burning is right now and how easy it would be to apply. But then again, outside of reaper shroud Reapers would be horrible in DPS in conditions. Reapers seem to be more built towards berserker gear overall, but even then if the theories are right about the power coefficients of Reaper dps, it’s going to be worse than the dagger in terms of DPS until half health. To add insult to injury, A-Net believes this is too strong for Reapers so there is a good chance they will nerf it even more to the point of dagger is overall better DPS.

But for open world PvE, I would maybe just stick to a mark/well build for all the tagging. Anything is pretty much viable there, as no one can be kicked out of an open world map and the mobs on those maps tend to be face roll easy.

im hoping chill will stack in damage, i don’t see why burn should be nerfed, the amount of option to get burn it limited , there’s only a few ways to get burn and even then its a very short duration as it is.

There are gonna have to have high attack damage to even make reaper possible with the slow attack speed, it does seem that anet is making reaper a pure damage class, condition could be possible but looking from the conditions on skills and traits its mostly chill, so the damage on chill trait is the key to a condition build in my opinion, if its too low then it wont be worth while unless it stacks, IT NEEDS TO STACK lol
