spvp Power necro help!
Staff is almost mandatory in spvp necro builds, power or condi.
Woahhhhh you mean I can dark paCT someone at the same time as I’m dropping a well and then I can chill them and fear them to keep them in it longer? Never would have figured that one out without you. Never.
You can write all the guides you want my build preference isn’t due to ignorance.
Also ds fear on my power necro is almost exclusively saved for when I need a heal or I see my opponent going for it.

Going to mostly agree with you in this little debate
I also RARELY use wells and would rather take two stun breakers armor/walk/wurm
I also prefer 4/4/0/0/6 with spectral attunement
I will also agree with Staff being almost mandatory not only for the range and CC but most important is the condi transfer in my opinion
@witcher – Most regulars on the Necro forums are not noobs we have been playing for a while you do not need to give “techniques” for having people sit in your wells the bottom line is good players do not sit in wells
Sooooo to the OP, you have some options in your spec. But it’s for the most part all very similar, none of these changes really alter the spec to a degree that anyone on your team or the enemy team will notice.
Power Necro is very, very fun if you play it in even matches. 1v1 (with cooldowns and some life force) you can handle pretty much any class, but you’re still squishy enough for it to be close and exciting. But once your team is behind skill wise or you’re getting focused too hard, the spec falls apart. It’s a great build, just not a serious one, if that makes any sense.
Regarding the wells discussion, they are not most valuable in 1v1 fights unless you’re assaulting a bunkered point. It will really come down to your playstyle as a Necro and conquest player as to whether or not they are more or less useful than stunbreakers.
Cool, again thanks to everyone who gave feedback. Just wanted to ask how viable is axe? And also what would a build that used it look like?
Zaragoz[SS] – 80 engineer
axe is never viable people can pratically make it useless just by hanging around too close to you because if they get to close it cancels out its attacks…

what? i think your mistaken. Axe doesn’t cancel out its attack if enemy is standing too close…….. be careful when using the right clicker on your mouse that can cancel attacks if held wrong.
axe 2 if they run too close to you it stops working same with focus skills i do it to axe necros all the time just keep really close to them and run inside them and they are basically shut down
while i happily go 111111111 with my dagger

I think they just press right click on mouse to turn to you and that cancels the cast.
If you like Axe (as I do), you can try this build…
You’ll be swinging that axe like a lumberjack, and there are some nice hidden synergies.

Cons:
- 1v1 build, mostly, with limited AoE capabilities
- Easy-ish to counter and fairly static in combat (you’ll be gutted when someone dodge your axe 2)
- Frustrating at times
Pros:
- If you can lock someone, they will go down fast with axe 2
- You will be very hard to kill
- Very good burst
- Axe!
Explanations
- Dagger/Horn for mobility only: just use horn 5 locust to run around and try to root the opponent using dagger 3,
- Swap to axe and axe 2,
- If things get hot, pop your “death shroud”
- Barbarian amulet for extra vitality
- Hold points forever with wells, death shroud (with “plague” instead of “flesh golem” you can hold a lot longer)
- Dagger is your secondary trash – only switch to it on downed enemies (111111), when you want to stop an enemy (dagger 3), for heal interrupt (horn 4) or to when you want to blow your trumpet (horn 5), or to troll the enemy (dagger 2)
- Do not hesitate to go into death shroud to fear your enemy to prevent a heal
Fun stuff:
- When you channel axe 2, get extra toughness (+400) from trait dark armor, get extra strength (10%) from trait, get +20% dmg against enemies at 50% health, stacks of vulnerability (lots)
- Protection cast by 2 wells, spectral armor
Keep your consume conditions (heal) for the right moment though, you don’t have a lot of condi removal, but conversely you’re not very vulnerable to it with massive health pool.
