i’ve compiled some of the changes I been thinking that would be a good improvement to the class. Please respond with your feedback.

Axe
#1
rending claws
Damage 2x: ???(no change)
Lifeforce 4%
range: 900

#3
spectral grasp 1/2 cast 20cooldown
pull your foe to you and gain lifeforce
damge: ???(same damage as unholy feast)
Lifeforce 5%
range: 900

Focus
reaper’s touch
sends out a scythe that bounces between foes and allies. cause vulnerability on foe and regeneration on allies. the first hit will create a jagged horror.
just added a minion creation otherwise no change

Spectral need a new spectral skill
Unfinished

traits
Spite
unholy fervor
reduce recharge of axe skills. Rending claws applies vulnerability and other axe skills apply chill.
chill: 3/4sec
reduce recharge 20%

Spiteful spirit needs a new effect
Unfinished!

Death Magic
spectral attunement
while your shroud is recharge 50% of damage is redirect damaging your lifeforce. Non-spectral skills sources have dimished Life force gains. Ends If your Lifeforce drops below the threshold.
Lifeforce threshold 30%
Reduce Effectiveness: 400%
replaces putrid defense

Blood Magic
Vampiric Rituals
In addition to its current effects. whenever you cast a well spawn a shambling horror.
these minions only last 21seconds
blood magic rearrange
ill attach a picture for a suggestion on a rearrangement of traits for blood magic

thoughts and reasonings
axe
pve enviroment ... get into melee... more damage dealt. pvp enviroment build defense at range engage and chase with a pull ... trait for better chasing

focus
it just feels like it needs something

spectral attunement
opens the way for flashing shroud builds and non shroud focused builds in pvp enviroments

vampiric rituals
current effect meh, thinking shambling horror would make it worth it to take traited well of blood

rearrange
vampiric and transfusion switching place ritual of life, transfusion, vampiric ritual banshee's wail, vampiric banshee's wail and quickening thirst switching place id rather have transfusion over ritual of life when i want banshee's wail.

edit
changed spectral attunement to be more balanced
removed ghastly claws as no change was done to it.
changed chill duration on unholy fervor

the blood magic one won’t happen as death magic is suppose to be minion line only… besides we don’t need more minions when we can already produce 15 of them rather easily.

As for the others, they don’t really need to be touched either. What it seems like is you want to kitten it and make it OP. Necro and Reaper are in a good place right now, no need to screw it up.

Personnally, I’d say “no” to everything, but you want feedback so :

Rending claw : putting some LF gen on it would certainly be wonderfull, however it’s too much LF gain and LF is way more needed in condi build than in power build atm.

Spectral claw : seem like you change nothing.

Spectral grasp : this is a spectral skill not an axe skill. Not sure that the trade would be good enough on the long run.

Reaper touch : unneeded change. It’s better to not have unneeded change.

Unholy fervor : Axe do not do a lot of damage already and you even want it to lose more the little extra that the trait gave us. Overall, if what you suggest benefit the reaper, it doesn’t do any good to the profession as a whole.

Spectral attunment : the trait is beyond OP, no thanks.

Vampiric ritual : again, something unneeded.

No core profession should be balanced around an optional elite specialization.

I think GS needs adressing much more then Axe or Focus. atleast u can hit a player with Axe and Focus where the only thing u hit a players thats somewhat AWAKE on GS is Nightfall. That its good for PvE dosent concern me at all, this game is for PvE and PvP and we was given a weapon that cant hit a player thats chained to a post… really do something to that first.

I think GS needs adressing much more then Axe or Focus. atleast u can hit a player with Axe and Focus where the only thing u hit a players thats somewhat AWAKE on GS is Nightfall. That’s the thing, it’s not good in PVE, sure big numbers but the overall dps of even GD spam can’t keep up with any other power DPS build, hell it doesn’t even keep up with Rev.

So it’s just sub-par or bad all around. Now, it’s fun in PVE but that doesn’t make it good.

Yea well it needs change much more the above suggestions, cause atm we have an entire 5-skill weapon that is useless.

Same can be said in WvW and PvP. The attacks are slow and clumsy to the point that every move is easily dodged. If you run GS in those two game modes, you only do it for fun or to give a rival a handicap. It is really that sad of a weapon for us that we might as well not even have it.

I don’t see them adding chill to Unholy Fervor happening. Since it came up (but I think it was in relation to Axe #3), I wish they would fix the pathing for Spectral Grasp to make it more reliable as it can easily be strafed.

Ahh sorry i am used to calling spectal mastery spectral attunement because in the past there were 2 spectral traits and spectral attunement was the more rememberable one. See https://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Spectral_Attunement

I think Reaper’s Touch for focus 4 would be great if it was a tether similar to dragon hunter f1 that gave me regen and either chilled or crippled the enemy. When activated once tethered, it roots. My biggest issue with power necro that I have is that my enemies always run away. If axe had a pull on it as well, I’d be in heaven!

hmm the tether is a good
the reason for the minion
now the skill can bounce off a single target when used at max range
More synergies with traits

would the tether pulse damage or would it be one bit hit?

I’d say projectile damage on initial contact, and pulses regen and the chill/cripple. Having it as a tether and removing the useless bouncing would give focus a HUGE benefit at longer ranges where it’s supposed to shine. As it sits, the bounces only shine at close range IF they aren’t obstructed by terrain… having a 1200 range doesn’t make sense in its current state.
