yes the thread is in the right spot.
as a necromancer player, i’m kind of bothered that thief has more access to torment than any other class, one of the ways they access it can be used as long as 4 initiative is available.

As quick as the Valkyries ride,

Perma Invis, (100% crit, heal, remove condi, might, 50% movment speed while invis), Teleports, Pulls, Weakness/Poison on AutoAttack, Clone/Dummy, Condition/heal/etc applying on top of attacks, non-dodge evades, dodge returns endurance+might+swift+cleanse crip & weak, 105 life siphon no trait cost. Super burst ranged & melee attacks.

Not sure why there torment doesn’t auto-stack weakness like there bleeds do…

I don’t understand why someone would be surprised for thieves having better torment than any other class. I said it when torment was announced, thieves (and mesmers) will always get better access to mechanism supposedly “exclusive” to necros.

Why fix the Necromancer for free when we can charge $$$ for the Revenant

As a necromancer player, hope that they burn all their initiative on giving you torment, keep still, and send it back at them or consume them.

simply because of the name of it. necromancers are master of the dark arts. torment sounds like it’s a dark art. that and thief has everything but range over 900.

Thieves get some cool toys no doubt… that’s why I enjoy playing one. However, they need everything mentioned in this thread to be viable. How else can a build that only has 14000 hp, no toughness, and requires melee combat be successful? Any thief that builds tanky loses such a huge % of their dps that it just isn’t worth it.

Look where thieves got torment… p/d #3… it requires melee to trigger and CnD is nearly always the better option given the choice between the 2. The other option is a craptastic venom…. both those combined are absolutely dwarfed by DS#5.

I beat most thieves playing on my necro and beat most necros playing on my thief… funny how that happens huh?

Well it may be more acces but it’s not even usefull, it’s a skill on a ranged weaponset
that has to be used in meele, also if you stack Torment 5 times insantly you only have 10 short stacks, and have to use up F1, and Three utility skills, while one was a pre set up trap.
So it doesn’t really work. No need to be upset, since you can cleanse it easily, while the Thief has nothing left, aside from a heal, an elite, and his autoattack, which only provides short duration bleeds. (5 Stacks at best)

Also don’t be mad about the stolen fear, a Necro fears way better.

I don’t care about thieves getting torment or whatanot, but thieves are medium armor class with superior gtfo mechanics so they are in no way at worse end when it comes to armor or survivability.

Any class with zerk build loses dps when going more tanky it’s not just thieves.

Just saying 14k hp is not any kind of defense to have something. The rest is too long story.

I can tell you’ve never played thief… or you would know to be able to trait for all of that requires about 150 trait points, 6 utility slots and the ability to equip 3 separate weapon sets at once.

Super burst ranged? You mean shortbow which has 900 range and the only attack which does decent single target damage is skill number 2 which has probably the slowest projectile speed I’ve ever seen. If you’re so slow that you get hit by that repeatedly you deserve every point of damage it does to you.

More like (from stealth) Basilisk Venom, Pistol 1, Pistol Pistol 3 (repeated as necessary). Tends to chunk you pretty hard with no warning at all, so dodging isn’t an option.
