whats holding hybrid necro back?
So, what amulets you would suggest?
I’ve always seen hybrids as the combination of 2 things to make something not quite as good as either.
There’s not a hybrid amulet that really works for necros unfortunately… Most hybrid builds atm work around the strength of Sage (power, condition, and healing power), but necro skills don’t make great use of healing power and can’t they can’t use it at all to support their allies—well maybe well of blood, but pffft.
Now if necro’s found themselves with some sort of Power/Condition/Ferocity amulet… They’d be in business. But so would all the other classes as that would be op af.
ArenaNet needs to come out with Power/Ferocity/Condition Damage/Expertise gear stat distribution.
Nothing
abysmal balance team.
Use a dire amulet. (^_-)
For PvE? Destroyer’s gear would be great. I’m inclined to say it would make hybrid greatsword viable on its own.
For sPvP? A Power/Precision/Condition Damage/Toughness amulet would be great, but it’s very difficult for such a build to get all the stats it needs with the amulet system.
For WvW? Nothing’s holding it back; Celestial Hybrid Greatsword is a great build.
For pve viper gear is hybrid. Now with 3 bleeds on chill and blind (traited: blind -> chill -> bleed) it performs very well with greatsword + X.
But needless to say it is not viable in wvw/pvp.
I guess “power, precision, toughness, condition damage” would work in pvp but is probably overpowered.

i think in general a pure power build is stronger than a hybrid one bc of dmgmultiplicators. pure condi doesnt rly have them imo but it has the hated double defensive stat option (at least in wvw).
so its a lack of synergy.

Idk. In WvW viper necromancer works extremely well from my own experience. Whats holding back hybrid necro is people’s lack of desire to explore it further imo.
You don’t need extreme damage multipliers to make hybrid necro work. People being hit for 3k bleed ticks and being pummeled by other conditions and direct damage is more than enough.
