so today i was helping defend a camp as it was being upgraded and we were getting harassed really bad by a mesmer. couldnt lock her down and she would just cloak and run when her clones ran out. Anyone got any tips to fight a mesmer?

The best tip is to harass the dev’s until they nerf Mesmer’s. They way over buffed them now.

Necros don’t do well against mesmers. Mesmers got buffed a “tad” too far. Most people don’t even call mesmers overpowered, they call them “broken”. That’s how bad it is.

Condition or Power Mesmer? It’s probably PU you can still just ignore them, though power ones you do have to dodge/block/ds and absorb the first opening burst.

Necro vs Mesmer has always been bad for Necro. We’re not particularly well equipped enough to pressure them into blowing all of their stealth (Each one is really long and they have up to 4 stealths), and a good number of them can interrupt us long enough for them to kill us. Think of power mesmer like a thief that doesn’t need to be close and against condi mesmer, you can literally walk away and they’re helpless.

Pre patch I was actually doing fine vs mesmer, the current dilemma is that they take a lot of what they previously weren’t able to more than other specs actually. The mesmer community is…mesmerizing some are advocating adjustment others are calling advocates traitors I have a mesmer but I have spec issues on my other alts. I would say stick to a squad necro is the least suited for roaming anyway, them along with nade engi were the first “anomalies” I noticed post patch and I main thief…

Best tip i’d tell you is: try to count their stealth if you know the them and pop DS before they hit it out of stealth with that crazy shatter/condi burst. And LoS like a boss!

Tainted Shackles are your friend versus Mesmers.

Lol at those saying Condi Mesmer isn’t broken too. Let me just walk away with a crud ton of Torment on me…..
