Why don’t we have Crossbows?!!???!

Ranger should have 1-handed crossbow (main hand) and off-hand crossbow.

Imagine having a main-hand crossbow with torch!! :-)
Or Sword with crossbow!!! That would be EPIC!

Why don’t we have crossbows? Because the game world already developed guns and only keeps bow around for the better effective range and the modified arrows. Crossbows are just sub-par pistols.

Actually there were times in history where both, bows of any form and guns, were used.

Medieval pistols and rifles had horrible accuracy and reload times so just because they developed guns this doen’t mean bows cannot be more efficient.

There are rifles and some still run in plate armors… don’t try to mix reality into game world

Imo 1h crossbow fits mroe for thief, but 2h one could make decent weapon for ranger. But on the other hand, it’d need to be slow and long range weapon, and LB already fills this role.

I agree with Terkov…which reminds me that LB needs a damage boost to it.

Crossbows have better accuracy but still abyssmal reload times. I didn’t say anything about other bows being bad with guns around. But yeah, I get the fantasy settting so I guess rapid-firing crossbows would indeed be freaking cool.

now, you want a weapon with an even SLOWER rate of fire?

There are numerous options and combinations for the crossbow. One of my thoughts for having a crossbow was that you could have a 1-handed bow. It would open for a lot of new fun and exciting builds.

Also the crossbow could be both single target damage (sniper, like wintersday) or multiple target weapon. See the pictures for inspiration.

Lets work on the weapons and issue we have before we start adding more.. Also for the record the long bow has better damage than the short bow if your able to maintain distance.
