Update 5.9.2013: getting better ANet, still way to go!

Hey guys!
I really enjoy the sword in sPvP right now, but I’m not quite sure how to build.
There is only 1 trait directly affecting it (20% cooldown reduction) and I think thats kinda useless.
So here is my build for now, hope you guys can help me out ,-)
(hint: copy paste!)
Any ideas?
Imho it offers nice survivability with good DPS and controll.
Freeze and imobilization lets your pet attack more frequently and your have protection and vigor up almost all the time!

I have found that the DPS is really low with the one hander build. After switching to the great sword I would not go back. Maybe after the update, the one hander will be more viable in more than PVE.
The sword/x style is more about being defensive and evasive than it is about raw damage. I use sword/dagger as a backup weapon combo for my bow and it’s very nice when something gets too close for comfort. Cut it a few times, dodge behind, a couple more attacks, dodge away, throw a dagger, and switch back to the bow. My target spends a nice amount of time missing its attacks while the bleeds my shortbow has inflicted tick away its health.
I rarely find myself just standing my ground and swinging away with it, the greatsword is much better for that with its higher damage and frequent evades.
I seriously have no idea where you guys are coming up with this low sword damage… I consistently shred multiple enemies easily with the sword/warhorn. If I have a shortbow in my other slot I can start off with that to close the distance/cripple and then finish them with the sword/warhorn while keeping myself buffed with fury/swiftness/might.
You don’t need Signet of Stone at all, it’s quite useless if you don’t have signets traited to apply to yourself and entangle is not that good considering you are “melee”…you could take more advantage of Rampage as One.
I don’t really know, but you could use your skirmishing points on marksmanship in order to get the signets trait and give you more raw damage

I see, I did a mistake with Signet of stone.
It’s supposed to be muddy terain.
Rampage as One is nice, but I also like Entangle to laugh at thiefs and mesmers.
especially a stealthed thief entangeled in combination with axe5 is a almost-dead-thief (+ considering most of them stealh to regain some health, I found a lot of them dropping dead instead ;-) )
Here is a new version:

ps: that Build Calculator is the most awesome one I found until now ^^
pps: copy paste or bad link!
Your 10pts in Marksmanship will mostly benefit your first couple attacks only, since you will be dodging in a melee oriented build.
Those 10pts are much better for a bow-centric build where you can have full endurance most of the time.
Consider spending the pts in Beastmastery instead bringing you to 15 pts.
This would give you another +100 healing and +100stats for pet and quicker pet swapping for the quickness buff.
Another option is 10pts in Nature Magic for more survivability with regen and regen uptime, plus the boost to boon duration for protection uptime and of course 200 more health.
