I really have struggles with a decent Mes 1v1 on my Ranger. I can handle them pretty well on my thief with the steal and buff and about 50/50 on my Warrior.

I believe part of the problem between the blinks, illusions and clones my pet is doing very little damage coupled with Mes being very hard to kite.

Anyone have any suggestions?

Yeah, I have one: Disengage. Mes pours out too many condis or unavoidable CC power bursts they can repeatedly slam you with and generally has a defensive option for every Ranger build.

Your other option is to hold them on point and call for help but if your solo no one will come so it’s better to lose the point then die on it. You can be an extra body elsewhere or wait for them to leave and backcap if they have no portal. Or make them waste the portal and book it once they port back if you have a point lead.

Do not 1v1 Mesmers.

Condi mesmer in PvP is not a good matchup, if that’s what you’re talking about. The greatest strength of druid is being annoying though, so hit your dodges, camp staff when appropriate, and leave when appropriate. You’re going to have to rely on teammates as a non-glass druid.

Pretty sure that druid is one of the very few classes that can actually 1v1 mesmers. Just make sure you dodge the shield block to limit their clone generation.

Before the May balance patch, druid actually has slight advantage over condition mesmer in a 1v1.

Now both received some damage and sustain nerf. I don’t think the matchup is changed a lot. It might be a 50-50 or 60-40 matchup.

Druid is pretty fine against Mesmer. Just practice by duelling and spare your CA to cleanse their conditions.

No Mesmer esp the condi kind is a bad match up for druid, a good one will block your bursts ranger as a class only has burst and condi rangers aren’t that good sense Mesmer will either send it back to you or just cleanse of your pet or roots, and any decent Mesmers will wear you down, often times you’ll get moa’d before you can cleanse, in pvp they can effectively press you off point, but it’s alot more manageable in wvw kitten is broke

the most you can hope for against a condi one is that they are vipers, so you can burst easily,
second bring all the cleanses you possibly can,
thirdly its more of a look at your buff bar and rotate your cleanses.
Finally look for their buff bar (the best way to tell which one is the real one) and constantly call target so you can identify the real one quickly since you only have a small window before they block or go invuln.

In pvp the best you can hope for is to stale mate them in wvw well gluck cause the stats esp expertise is broke as kitten

In my experience the only thing that works most of the time is when they are 50% hp swap to bristle, WHaO to share the might stacks or Sick’em and cast spike barrage.
Pets usually target the mesmer instead the illusions and most of the time they are focused on you and that skill is the only one that is actually reliable to hit fast moving targets.

However any cancer build in dire or trailblazer is going to be immortal against most.

To pick up the actual mesmer follow the trail of condition ticks.

Shure it depends how much DPS you can do. If you go wet noodle yes better to “hold on point” as long as the mesmer doesn’t decided to go all in.

If you can output some damage in my experience is to go as i said, is very difficult to keep an eye in the pet if you keep it at his/her back. But again aids mesmer in trailblazzers is almost impossible to kill however.

But i’m talking WvW as the OP didn’t specified any gamemode. In PvP may be different.
