Since the last update, I’ve noticed my #2 Downed ability isn’t firing off to hinder my impending doom. I’ve mashed that key in sPvP, WvW and PvE scenarios and it isn’t activating.

Is this just me or another bug?

It’s been working for me. Perhaps you were stunned or dazed in downed state?

I didn’t notice any problems last night with it. Obivously people with stability will not be affected by it (if that’s what you meant – it not hitting people).

I did notice that our #3 still rarely works. My pet runs over to me and stands there staring at me. “Get up… why aren’t you getting up…?”

@Strongfort huh, my pet actually rezes me ~75% of the time, although it seems every time my pet actually rezzing me will save my kitten and help me get out of down state is when it doesn’t work….. i can’t tell you how many times i’ve almost thrown my computer out the window because my pet wasn’t rezzing me when he should’ve…

@OP i have had no issues with my #2 not firing off, i have had issues on it firing off as soon as i hit down state though which is REALLY annoying mind you… however i have not had issues of it just flat off not firing, however the enemy using stability and making it not work… that’s a different story…

I too have noticed my downed #3 not fully activating of late. Strongfort’s description is quite accurate.

It works its just one of the worst abilities of them all.

Works fine, maybe stability? or “big bosses” in PvE

By “not working/not going off” I mean to state that the ability is not activating and going on a cooldown. Even if the target has stability, wouldn’t it still fire and trigger a cooldown?

I would also like to point out that I’ve mashed the key like crazy and have tried it while targeting an opponent, targeting various opponents and not targeting at all. The ability will not fire.

@Deepwinter, now i spam the everliving hell out of my 1 ability while downed, so when my #2 doesn’t launch it’s usually because of the stupid Que System they have where your 1 skill isn’t overwritten by everything else… this may be the case for you? not sure.

Nope. The 1 ability is very situational for me. If there isn’t a target I can down with the 1 ability so I can Rally quickly, I won’t waste time smashing it.

Huh, then i do not have such an issue, and don’t think i ever have…. that’s pretty weird, do you think you could get a vid or anything of it so we could see if there is any 3rd party reason going on? (just REALLY weird and never heard of this happening before.)

Off Topic: Can we set the #1 skill to auto attack while downed? Because i was told by a friend if a skill is on auto cast it will be canceled from the que if you try to use a skill NOT set as auto cast.

I’m ok with the ranger’s #1 in downed. #2 is disappointing, but you should realize that you can still control your pet using F1, F2 & F3 in downed state. that being said, ranger’s downed #2 and #3 are pathetic.

What? being able to rez yourself is pathetic? News to me… When 3 works my god does that change the course of the fight while being downed! as for the 2, oh no… an aoe daze, how awful… why would you want to interrupt everyone trying to finish you/everyone infront of you with one really quick cast skill…

2 seems to fail when I hit it right after I get into the downed state. It will pulse like it is being activated, but it will never do anything. I have to keep reminding myself to wait a second before I use it, so it doesn’t really help against people finishing me with quickness. Anyone else notice this? Could be latency, but I rarely have any latency issues unless I’m in WvWvW zerg.

3 rarely works, it pretty much just calls my pet back to me and he stares at me.

EDIT: It tried to format this in a list, apparently the # is a special tag. Hmm..

@andybmcc That’s pretty much the issue I’m having, but that seems like another bug. On all other professions, I can use the 2 ability immediately on a down without delay.

True dat. There is no worse skill in this game.

What some of you might be noticing wtih # 3 not working is the following:

When you are downed and your pet is alive, they will remain with the HP they had when you were downed (mroe than likely low HP, definitely not full). So if during your downed period, you do not swap your pet, and you invoke # 3, the pet will begin rezzing you with low HP and consequently is being killed before this can occur (although it just sits there when it reaches 0 hp).

My advice, swap your pet when you’re downed, or use #3 when your pet is dead so it gets revived on command with full HP. You won’t have an issue with your pet reviving you then.

Found this out the other night:

When I had Signet of the Wild on, my 2 ability will be glitchy, eventually cast but not stun my target. Apparently this is a posted bug on the Ranger Bug List, but the list has not been updated in some time.

I’ll try again tonight without Signet of the Wild and see if I can actually stun people. Sigh. Another Ranger bug.

Really? Worse than the ele’s root? Sorry, when its not bugged it’s much much better. You can actually interrupt a stomp, something an ele cannot do within the first 9 seconds of being downed. I play an ele in WvW and a ranger in sPvP (turnies are a joke of bunkers and not worth my time). I’m 100x more happy with the ranger downed state than the craptastic ele downed state.
