Hi all, I’m tired of reading how rangers are broken and that the need a complete overhaul, so this is a invitation to anyone who thinks they can defeat my ranger in a duel. Just mail/message me in-game and let me prove you you wrong. Seeya around!

Are you condi spec’d?
Are you running axe/dagger + sword/torch?
Are you running spirits?

I’m not sure anyone denies the simple fact that Rangers make excellent duelers/roamers. They have a top tier sPvP build afterall so they must be good at it.

There are certain trolly ranger builds around. None of which inflict anything more than condi damage.

However I like a good duel. If you’re not a tank troll I’ll find and PM you.

rangers can duel with the best of them… no is saying that can’t do that…

but they suck at everything else lol outside of roaming/small scale battles

wvw zergs? useless..all you can do is barrage and stay back and line up targets for peircing arrows…

dungs/frac? spotter + frost spirit otherwise, completely useless and bring nothing to the table for the party.

a skilled rangers is pretty awesome in roaming/dueling, no question about it, but it doesnt matter how skilled a ranger is in other aspects of this game…they are just held back in those aspects because anet has no clue what do to with this class

I would love for Rangers to be buffed a bit but I wouldn’t go so far as to ask for an overhaul either.
Imho, people just hate Rangers because they played them and the learning curve was too high so they immediately assumed they were bad. There’s more to them then making your pet tank everything while you pew-pew from a distance. But most are too naive to try anything else because making you pet tank while you pew-pew works in PvE so to them it should work everywhere… Not the case. Learn to improvise and you’d be amazed at what this profession is capable of.

On a side note; I whole-heartedly admit that Rangers are sub-par in zergs, but they’re not completely useless if you know what you’re doing. Still, everyone needs eyes on their territory and someone to defend fully upgraded camps or to flip enemy camps so… We have our role.

I knew of an extremely small niche group that says the Ranger is broken… The extremely large vast majority hates the pets, not the Ranger.

I guess ranger is fixed and fine now the can be no more delays in the CDI this time.

Well darn, they moved my thread to the ranger thread… they could’ve at least placed it into another profession’s thread, haha. Well anyway, thank you guys for your posts; the good and the sarcastic. I placed this in the PvP thread, but i guess it wasn’t good enough to stay there. BUT i still want a challenge! I’ll whisper you Atherakhia in-game
