We have one change that would go a long way to revitalizing the core class mechanic which is the Pet, that change end result is increasing the pet survivability inside dungeons.

Passive AE damage mitigation.
A dedicated pet heal on a very short CD.
Pet always places it self behind the target.
Pet can attack while moving.

In the over 300 hours of GW2 game play I have had it has become clear that Ranger in PvE kills at the lower ends of the ‘speed’ spectrum. Is it how players spec or something else?

I started a Ranger alt and noticed that as early as 11 kill time started to slow down. I noticed that Fire Trap was the only way to maintain the kind of kill speed other classes have that I have played which means going melee.

lightning reflexes needs to break immobilize so that evasion tanks are viable options.

empathic bond needs to be reliable, i.e. it needs to activate on pet swap.

spirits need their HP back.

pets need to be a viable option. currently they are not

great suggestions.

Get rid of signet of the beastmaster too, and make signets do that effect normally. Yea fixing pets would go a long ways. Actually evasion tanks are viable, about the only ranger build that is, its only viable as a bunker/roamer because its near impossible to beat 1v1, my thief is about the only class that can do it for me, even my guardian who I thought was unbeatable lost a couple of times too a good evasion tank. Was quite impressed, I wont play the build but was impressed nonetheless.

True story.

Twilight Arbor, Path 2, Nightmare Tree encounter:

Group Leader (Mesmer): Alright, this encounter has roots. Everyone equip your rootbreaker skill.
Me (Ranger): I don’t have a “rootbreaker.”
Group Leader (Mesmer): What do you mean? Every class has a rootbreaker.
Me (Ranger): Not Rangers!
Group Leader (Mesmer): …weird.

roots are a joke, press Z, 1, 1. There’s your root breaker, no wasted utility skill. Of course on that fight you can stand to the side raining arrows and ignore the roots, even if you’re bound.

But I will agree that LR needs to be fixed to include that. Last night was my first TA run and I foolishly brought LR thinking that would be helpful :*/

Hogwash. Not every profession has a way to remove immobilize. In fact, most do not.

There are plenty of ways to remove conditions, but there’s no guarantee you’re going to get rid of the immobilize.

For reference.
