Guild Wars 2

Hey guys my main is currently a ranger at lvl 42 and I am thinking of trying out a second character. I know there are issues with the class but for me and playing pve and getting used to the game i like the class. I was hoping to play a class that is either melee or light armor. Possibly a class that is easy to play pvp with… I’m not saying a simple face roll class but maybe one that has a bit of livability and mobility. dont know if this next criteria even makes sense but something that has lots of variety with like specs or weapon combos or skill combos whatever just something that is fun to experiment with options.

My alt’s an Engi.
I don’t know about PvP, but generally speaking kits and toolbelt skills makes for alot of things to play with.

My main is a Guardian, I then made a ranger for fun. Once hitting 80, i went right back to Guardian

You just do so much for for your team in PvE dungeons. I actually felt selfish if I ever wanted to take my ranger into the party over my guardian. Ranger is fun, dont get me wrong, but Guardian is a great class to have also, especially if you’re in a dungeon with a poor team.. You can just hop off your ranger and grab the guardian to provide them support and pull through. I still play my ranger from time to time, but when your group is in need, it’s great to have a heavy class like warrior or guardian to get things done more smoothly.

For PvP I recommend Mesmer because it’s awesome good fun with clones, phantasms and confusion and is a unique playstyle that can be very strong.

I second guardian. Great survivability, mobility, and damage in pve. You can pick up a utility that gives you swiftmess for 20 secs or so for 1 point (i think its called retreat), greatsword has a gap closer and a great damage combo, virtues are awesome, a scepter/focus gives you a 3 sec block (basically invunrability), a root and a aoe damage skill that you can place within 900m I think. Hammer+greatsword has amazing synergy to pump out a lot of damage. Staff has great skills as well, although I don’t use it much.

Its just really fun to play, the abilities look great, and you have a number of different playstyles you can excel at. The heavy armor looks really nice, one virtue gives you a constant heal over time or an emergency second heal, its a sweet, sweet class.
