if you are using a pet like devourer or spider, one with a ranged attack and lets say you are meleeing.

well you know that annoying thing where monsters go invulnerable when u shoot them and they cant reach you. well now the monster is invulnerable because of your pet, despite you meleeing it.

and to make it worse. this is occuring UNDERWATER. where the enemy can always reach your pet.
so why is it doing this?

i getting tired of vsing an underwater boss enemy and then my ranged pet will make them invulnerable. they heal and i sitting there swinging my spear cursing myself for HAVING a pet.

seriously can i PLEASE have an option to hide this pet till i WANT it to come out. not when i get in combat.

I’m pretty sure it’s just the water that does this, and it has nothing to do with Melee or Range

My Cat and Drake pets will cause for example, veteran Giant Jelly fish to go invulnerable…

It’s just underwater that does this, On land it doesn’t happen.

Sadly I find that the spear more often or not is the culprit as this happens to me all the time and I use melee pets.

Don’t have this issue usually when I swap to spear gun (usually)

I can confirm that this happens with all types of pets. I don’t really get it all that frequently though, so I can’t go into more detail.

……so thats the trade for all the aquatic buffs we got?

It existed long before the aquatic buffs

so it ANOTHER bug ranger has had and Anet hasnt addressed.

It isn’t entirely exclusive to ranger actually, I asked some friends and they said that they also have underwater stuff that goes invulnerable on occasion, though it seems more common for us.

I don’t think this has anything to do with pets. I’m 80% sure pets have their own “invulnerability” counter seperate from the players. I’m fairly certain at some point I’ve seen my pet attacking and getting “invulnerable” while I myself can still do damage just fine, and I know for sure that I’ve seen my pet doing damage while I get “invulnerable”.
