Moderators just shut down the second humorous ranger thread that has surfaced post-nerf. Can’t we have our therapy?

When someone writes a humorous post, it is not supposed to be inflammatory.

With no official response for weeks, can’t we at least crack jokes to keep our morale high?

My opinion is that these forums should be used to discuss the related topics rather then mess around(you can do that ingame if you so desire to).

It wasn’t that humorous. Just weak puns about ranger bugs mixed in with the usual class QQing that is the cancer of this forum.

But put in the form of a joke, which makes it funny. Same reason sexist or racist jokes are funny.

Why would you want forum moderator to fix game bugs?

I meant this is where most of their staff is atm not that a dev should be handling forums or vice versa.

My opinion is that the forums should be a place for the community to express their concerns not just talk shop talk (which I enjoy as well). As long as people aren’t being personally attacked and the threads are more or less on topic, then what’s the big issue?

See, that can’t be an inflammatory comment, and you can’t be offended – because it’s a joke. Right? I put a smiley after it and everything…

Humor aside what worrying is that they closed down the 40ms shortbow thread. There was plenty of good feedback but i guess they didn’t want the thread to draw any more attention since it was hitting nearly 800 posts and 80k views.
Doesn’t look good when biggest thread in the forums points out your mistakes. So better just to close the thread and hide your head back to the sand.

I think Anet are probably very concerned and surprised at all of the negative feedback they’re receiving from players here on the forums. Locking and deleting the threads that threaten their view of themselves and GW2 shows a worrying sense of corporate insecurity. An inability to laugh at themselves, or to let others to laugh at them, suggests to me that they’re on the defensive and feeling very threatened by some of the opinions so ably expressed on the forums.

I’ve been an Anet customer for more than five years. I bought Guild Wars, Factions, Nightfall, Eye of the North, character slots, storage panes and other upgrades from the in game store.

Anet has done more to damage their own reputation in these forums since Oct. 7th than they managed in the previous five years. And their attitude has done more to take the fun out of GW2 for me, than any of the bugs and poor design ever could.

Consumers inevitably vote with their wallets and on that basis I am unlikely to be giving them any more of my money.

Like real Rangers everywhere I try to tell it how I see it rather than just give in and maintain the status quo. Whether Anet and others like to admit it or not, we dissenting voices are part of the community too. And Anets’ current way of dealing with us seems somewhat akin to shooting the bearers of bad tidings. Short sighted and ultimately counter productive.

In the meantime: “viva la revolution” … the Rangers are revolting!

My post was deleted. What a shock. It was no pro-anet/fanboi …I’m sorry Anet. You’re so wonderful! You didn’t lie to us at all and you know how to balance classes like no other. I’m going to buy all your games right now because you’ve made such a positive impact on me and not turn to another company because I’m as faithful to you as you have been to your community :p
