Currently one of the problems with Skirmishing Tree is it has a bunch of traits designed around doing either pets or traps, and very few designed around actual Power Based Rangers.

What if Agility Training and Pet Prowess worked on the Ranger as well, I realize that agility training might need a slight nerf, as well as Pet Prowess (thinking 25% for both of them) but those would make them very good for Power Based Rangers.

I would take this option any day.

My suggestion would be to combine them (opening up a slot for a new adept trait), and then take Carnivorous Appetite in the Masters slot and make it effect the player as well, but more like “your pets crits steal health for you, and your crits steal health for your pet.” That would also help power builds out a ton.

I feel like that would lesson the trait, the purpose of it is to make the squishy pets more tanky, however i would like it to be a “Your crits steal health for you” but just make it less than the pets for obvious reasons (sort of like the regen in BM).

@OP I’d say just make Agility training and pet prowess just increase it by like 10% speed and like10% crit damage while your pet is alive to keep it more pet focused but make it also assist you a bit instead of being totally pet based.

EDIT: Or better yet make it so Agility training makes it so your pet ALSO has a % chance to give you swiftness on hit with an ICD.

Those are good options as well Durzlla, Skirmishing Line does need some better options for Power Users.

I mean its a Crit Based line, but it has 4 “trapper” based traits, 4 Pet Based traits, an Axe Trait that makes no sense (since Axe Main hand is a condition weapon, not a crit damage weapon) and 1 actual power based option, Quick Draw, I’d say Moment of Clarity but that’s more of a defensive option

It just occured to me, axes were pretty good crit dmg weapons when gw2 first started… then Honed Axes got nerfed from 33% to 10%.

Boom, right here, axe used to be freaking amazing as a hybrid weapon because how the insane crit damage you could get from Honed Axes, and then they nerfed it into oblivion at the end of beta for god knows why….

I think it was 50% crit damage, but seeing as how kittenty axe raw damage is by default all that really did was bring it up to par…
