Another Ranger Fix Idea

This would be nice to see, biggest problem I still see is we lack damage, we have no chance of breaking a good D/D that’s bunker spec’ed. We have no chance vs the new Mesmer build Shatter/Confusion.
I spent hours today in SPvP fighting my friends trying to break there build. No matters what I tried nothing worked. I might get lucky vs less skilled players but verses someone good no chance at all.
And all the problems pointed back to my Pet, vs the Mesmer we found the pet rarely hit the target due to clones/cloaks, vs the D/D ele the pet just couldn’t keep up sometimes I got lucky and it hit on there turn around, but my pet couldn’t keep up even with the speed boost.
And to top it all off its even harder in WvW. SPvP is allot easier compared to WvW.
I really like the ranger, but its shame Anet’s idea of fixing classes is slowly and over time. Rangers need to be fixed faster and improved faster.

I like how one ortwo people like to say what the entire player base in a class can and cant do. There are rangers that are almost impossible to solo. Every class has thier strength as far as specs. It make sense that you have to spec into bm as a ranger just as condtion class have to spec into condtion. You can choose not to but dont complain when your performance is lack luster.
I am not saying that there is only one way to set-up a build but there are certainly wrong ways to do things and better ways.
everyone should fear becoming mentally clouded and obsessed with one small section of truth.

I like your idea, but it doesn’t really touch on the root of the ranger issue.
I feel the rangers problems are
1) at least half of their damage doesn’t really stick to their opponents. arrows are better now but the pet simply doesn’t hit still (and in many cases won’t no matter how fast it moves).
2) opponents have far too easy a time sticking to the ranger.
because of this it is too easy to end up in situations where the ranger performs sub-optimal (while allowing her oponnents to perform optimally) for reasons beyond his/her control all the while allowing opponents to dictate the situation.
i feel until these problems are addressed rangers will stay a hard mode and disadvantaged class.
it goes beyond the adjustment of numbers. still though, in an ideal world i would be happy to see the pet more in line with how i create my build.

Ideally, that’s how the traitline would look like. The question is however, what would replace the beast mastery tree? We’re not only talking about a traitline rework; we’re taking about an entire overhaul. Anet does not have the resources nor the incentive to do undertake such a massive operation.
