I’m surprised that, considering Arena Net has already looked at the Short Bow for animation bugs, they didn’t fix the most glaringly obvious animation bug at all. It’s one that I’ve got to say kind of ruins the whole experience of using this weapon.

I noticed just now that when a character is shooting a short bow (or probably a longbow also, but I wouldn’t know since I don’t bother with one) when they reach to their back for another arrow… they don’t actually have a quiver or any arrows! All they do is make a slight hand movement backwards, then pull the bowstring back and let go!

What level of suspension of disbelief does Arena Net require from their players? I can believe that muzzle loaded rifles can be fired like an automatic weapon with infinite ammo for the purpose of giving warriors the ranged dps they so rightly deserve, but I simply will not accept my ranger being some kind of magic, invisible projectile creating, wizard. It is simply too much.

Arena Net needs to address this issue by adding an animation for every ranger where they will reach into a quiver on their back, draw an arrow all the way out, fit it to their bow, take aim, hold their breath to steady their aim, and then fire. Because of the complexity of such an animation I’m sure this will result in a further DPS decrease, however I think I speak for all rangers when I say that we demand proper animations for our weapons; other reasons for playing the class such as utility, or a reason to play one in PvP over any number of other classes simply do not matter compared to this egregious oversight.

I agree with Turtles, as I always do in all his/her posts. I want to see greater animation accuracy with my Ranger, even at the cost of more 7% damage reductions!

I would like to add, too, that traps should not be thrown haphazardly. Instead, the Ranger should meticulously place his or her traps – including, but not limited to, digging a pit, placing spikes and concealing said pit with leaves and brush. This animation should take no less than 45 minutes to prepare/cast, or else the trap will fail.

Animation issues are the game’s biggest and most glaring issues and they should be addressed ASAP. Thanks!

I’m still waiting for them to fix the animation bug that is making my character jump forwards 1100 yards when I press 3 while having a GS equipped.
