Their Tooltips are now based of their stats and no longer the Rangers, so you can now tell accurately whats going on.
No. Their tooltips are still based off of the ranger’s stats. I just checked.

you sure, cause I swear i just checked it, i’ll check again
I just checked it, and I’m not seeing a change based on any stats on my gear…if I remove my gear, and even switch pets, the Stats remain the same…
so i’m 100% sure its based on their stats now.
Well, when I swap weapon sets, which have different amounts of +healing on them, the tooltips for the fern hound regen and the moa AoE heal adjust their numbers accordingly.
In other words, it’s still the same.

Were you by chance doing it in combat with the compassion talent?
edit
Blah I just checked it again and now its not… wtf..
Actually, its Weird, when I do it on the Drake pet, only the condition damage changes (not the actual damage stat)
While on the Fern Pet it changes
weird

No. The compassion talent doesn’t adjust the tooltips at all.
If anything that counts as more evidence that the tooltips take their variables from the ranger’s stats, not the pets.
Yea its just the Drake Pet that’s doing it, that’s why…
No matter if ya change weapons only the Condition Portion of the attack will change on the Drake, for everyone else it changes.
Color me nonplussed.
Do you happen to know for certain whether compassion training even works?

Yes it works
You got to be in combat for it to work though, It will work on Natural Healing from the BM line.
Our Healing Power works on Signet of the Wild.
It should work on other things pet related as well.
“Pet gains 125 healing per second, no benefit from player’s or pet’s healing power.” – from the Wiki, on Natural Healing.
I also didn’t notice any difference with the fern hound’s regen. The moa’s AoE heal (which he by the way only uses when he HIMSELF needs a bit of healing, making it unreliable for you, the ranger, to depend upon when in need of healing) heals only for about 210 more (70 more per ‘burst’, of which there are three total).
I can confirm that the pets tooltips are still based off the rangers stats, not their own. I really wish Anet would fix this so I can get the real information on the actual pets abilities.
I have stacked a decent amount of +healing gear (1,108) and +10% boon duration, my fern hounds regen ability tooltip states:
Regen (11 seconds): 2,954 Heal. Wouldn’t that be amazing?
I wish this was true. What it actually is when tested in game:
Regen (10 seconds): 1300 Heal.
It isn’t affected by Compassion Training trait either. Still heals for 130 a tick when the pet is in combat. I wish there was some kind of stat scaling between the ranger and its pet.
Edit: Tested compassion training in WvW (not the mists) and the regen ticks went to 174 when the hound was actively attacking. This trait seems very unreliable as it goes back to 130 ticks sometimes. The trait really shouldn’t have the ‘pet must be in combat’ for it to take effect.
