Persiës Sunreaver (ele), Persiës (ranger),
Gromphe Baenre (necro), Përsies (guard)
Hello,
Since I am abandoning my attempt to make power rangers work I was wondering what people have tried as far as condition based gear in WvW. Ideally I would like to be able to keep the same gear for a trapper build and a spirit/roaming/quasi-bunker type build. I was thinking some mix of dire and rabid to get relatively balanced stats, but would appreciate anyone sharing their experience as to what worked best for you with different builds.
Thanks very much for any replies!
I think that the cut of for diminishing returns for condition damage is 1200. If your not going to max it, then that is probably a good number to shoot for.
My rule of thumb is when you start going for more than 4 stats, put on celestial. It gives 10% more stats all in all in addition to lots of critical damage.
For condi builds in wvw, apothecary is an excellent choice. I’ve run rabid too, but I miss the survivability.
Its also pretty common to get a few different armor sets and celestial trinkets, because ascended trinkets take some time to put together.
Apothecary all the way (in my opinion), you can try carrion and rabid but you do lose that extra health regen; which you will feel lacking when you use your skill in the middle of a big fight, only to realize that you are back to having low health and nothing but tears to follow.
Signet of the Wild is probably going to be your utility choice for every build. Personally, I’d also get myself either Runes of Speed or preferably Runes of the Traveler. Then you’re going to want to aim for an Apothecary build and mix that with either Dire (more so for traps or bunkers) or Rabid (more so with Spirits). Rabid and Dire works well together, but you will miss the 100+ regen per second more than you would initially think.
While its not related to gear, Condition Duration is also important. If the fight starts to get long and drawn out, this Item is infinitely helpful :::

It pretty much increases your damage potential by 40%
TBH condition duration food is manditory against someone using the condition reduction food. You will notice it instantly if you dont have it on.
But yeah as others said, Dire, Apothecary or Rabid are all great choices depending what it is you’re trying to do.
SOTW is good if you:
-either go with signet build and use it for the active (sub par build at the moment)
-can get it over 100 hp/sec which needs around 500 HP
Otherwise getting either renewal or lightning reflexes can save you more lost hitpoints then SOTW can heal you up
If trapper
Do Dire Armor, Weapons with Rabid Jewelry
Use Superior Rune of Speed or Traveler
You want to be as tanky as possible, to lots of damage, and not die.
Chest + legs + Amulet +weapon(s) = dire
Helmet + Shoulder + Gloves + Boots + Rings + Accessory + Backpiece = Apothercary
Traits; 10,0,30,(0/30),(0/30)
*means that either you go spirits, or you go beastmaster.
If using celestial, i would trait 30 into marks for remorseless, condition duration (it is both good and bad. Bad part is conditions gets easier to cleanse, good part is that you do a lot more damage), Keen Edge and piercing arrows (useful with LB as you applies conditions and do massive crits to multiple targets when you stealth).
As for weapons, i suggest sword + dagger and sb (poison spam) or sword + torch and LB (bleed and burn spam)
it depends , if you want to use the shortbow a combination of rabid and celestial or rabid and carrion is good. If you want to use axe/torch and sword/dagger dire is good
