Are bow rangers any good in SPVP
No. Longbow warriors are :P
SB rangers are top tier in sPvP.
bows are situational, right now though axes, torches, swords, greatswords, and daggers are more efficient as they have good mobility, good control and give you added benefits to your abilities like dodge and weakness, chill, cripple, burning, poison. Bows are good but they are lack luster in the whole killing someone before they kill you department, which is most apparent in 1v1. rangers don’t have any real glasscannon build remember that, if you try to kill someone with a power build usually they will get up to you before you nocked down 1/2 their health and they will crit you for 8k+ with a melee attack and fallow it up with a series of similar damaging attacks while you are shooting them with a bow, and short bow since the whole nerf to quickness and our access to getting quickness the bleed stacks are not there so you are looking more at the base dmg from the auto attack on foes rather than base + bleeding as it used to be for most encounters. LB, just doesn’t have the dmg, you can open up with it but best to swap weapons once they hit the 900 range mark.
Giant spiders of the world are just misunderstood creatures, they love to snuggle too.
I use sbow/s&d myself so… since the evade/poison/cripple/daze but I don’t feel the Lbow in spvp still mind to easy to get inside the max range to screw the output.

Shortbow beats an axe torch setup for midfights, although it is not as strong 1v1. The 900range condition application helps keep spirits alive while also bringing good utility. In a 1v1 you lose the weakness, chill, and alternate burn sources that axe/torch brings.

You can play a 30/20/20/0/0 build or something like that with a longbow. Calling it “good” might be a bit of a stretch though. That being said, you can kill people with it. But if it turns into a 1v2, you hightail it out of there.

sPvP is dominated by conditions so anything that can apply them quickly tends to win. The only reason the shortbow is used over the axe is because of the poison and the evade. The autoattack bleed is inconsequential. The reason most use sword/dagger in the offhand is for the evades and poison. Sometimes they run sword/torch for the added burn duration.
I played about 5-6 months ago, and they were not viable…rifle warriors were better at being a “ranged” class.
Can anyone update me on the state of a cool ranged class, and how they are in SPVP? I want a viable build, are rifle warriors still my only option?
