So I just made a ranger class and went to mist to see what it is like with all top gear ect..

It does huge amount of damage it does and I really like it. It was going more damage than my warrior!

Ranger doing more damage than a warrior? Impossible. A zerker warrior will outdamage a zerker ranger any day of the week.

Depends on 1 million and one things. But in all honesty, you can build your Ranger to out-damage pretty much anything (depending on skill of course but potential is there!)

I currently run a trap based ranger and honestly have no problem doing anything from solo to commanding 50+ in wvw.

So the answer is the same I give to every class. Ranger’s are as good as the player behind the keyboard Find a class you love, and you’ll be good, force a class to work how you want, and you’ll be subpar.

As long as you like the idea of being ranged and having a pet then I would say stick with it. We were buffed pretty significantly last patch(faster arrows, better mele pets, faster speed) so it is good now and only stands to get even better in the future.

personally, it took me a good while (few months) to find a build I really like for wvw so experiement and I am sure you will find a good one that suits your playstyle.

ranger is very good. one of the best duelists in the game. good builds are more attrition based. pure burst ranger builds are laughable.
