Cool. But the name makes me cringe.

Really? I really like the name :P.
Cool. But the name makes me cringe.
I like the name, it reminds me of the Crippling Shot skill description way back in beta… I miss that description…

Thanks for being on the show. Any feedback on ways to improve or things we should talk about would be awesome!
nice job guys! Will this be a regular thing?

I thought the name “Durzlla” rang a bell… Usually that’s either very good, or very bad.
Yeah, no… I’d sooner ask a drunk hobbo about the therapeutic applications of retroviruses.
Cool. But why did you have to name it after an epic maymay?
really bad engineer

I’ll listen to a guy with dolyak rank. It’s better than me.

Overused year old memes will annoy more people than not.

And yeah, his quality might be a bit sketch, but trying to help the community is still an attempt at helping the community.

I can’t change the name every time they change a description ;p. As for his ability to contribute, we have over 20 guests including some of the top tournament guys, and some fun loving wvwvw and only pve guys. The game isn’t just about pvp.
nice job guys! Will this be a regular thing?
Yup, you can count on it!
Thanks for the support, it is apreciated
Every Tuesday, we release a new episode

Your call, really.
Also, thanks for helping us kickstart it.
Your presence made for a great podcast.
Jolly good form mate

Creative/Constructive criticism goes a longer way in helping the Ranger community.
This was a good example of how not to do it.
Still, I apreciate the time and effort you put in sharing your opinion with us.

Love all the podcasts your website puts out Bas.
Gotta fix Batosai’s internet connection, then again after he was DCed from skype and raidcall etc it was fine for the rest of the show.
Hopefully you can get a Thief show going at some point.
Garrett Ward – 80 Thief / Roland Ward – 80 Warrior / Tacitus Ward – 80 Necro

I am absolutely aware of that now haha! I will leave it up so your comments don’t look odd. The funny part is I believe I mentioned to the ranger podcasters about the fact that there is no i than proceeded to put the i in everything.

Thank you! A lot of the EU guys end up with massive spikes in their mumble connection, and I think Danto from the Guardian side handles it by turning everything but the podcast off until it’s over. I don’t ask guys to do that, but it’s something that I am sure he is aware of :P.
As for the Thief show, we are working on getting all the professions setup with their own podcast. It’s a slow process because I like to focus on getting my podcasters comfortable with doing everything themselves before I move on to the next profession (generally there is an email that says, your awesome Bas, but we can handle this). I don’t really know a lot of thieves either so our podcasters come from applicants and people who I have met or been referred too.
I think we have the Warrior and maybe the Engineer one starting next month. I will start working on getting the Thief and Elementalist next.
Thank you for the encouragement!

That isn’t rude :P. It would only be rude if you had added “Only an idiot wouldn’t have known the phrase was IN the knee”
Your comment was simply correcting an error.
Thank you to everyone who has listened so far. Keep passing the word along. Leave any criticisms or critiques. We are always looking for ways to improve. My email and PM’s are checked continually.
Thank you to the hosts and Durzlla for the show. I really enjoyed it!
Sorry to say, going from listening to mesmerized to listening to this, I was a bit disappointed :-/
I enjoy simply hearing the voices in Mesmerized while one guy’s voice in arrow to the knee and the constant technical problems were quite aggravating.
I also learn something new about my Mesmer (which I’ve played since beta) whenever I listen to Mesmerized while I did not learn anything about my Ranger (which I’ve played much less than my Mesmer) when I listened to Arrow to the Knee.
I appreciate that the Ranger podcast was finally started though and hope it improves. I’m sure getting one started for the Ranger class was harder than it was for Mesmer given the large differences in the two communities.
Try your best to not make mistakes, but, when you do make mistakes, learn from them.
Better yourself.
I think they did well considering their broadcasting experience and technical issues. I think the focus on the question of “how does ranger bring what others can’t” steered the conversation down several rabbit holes. I agree with sebrent that more focus on playstyle, builds, and stories about using ranger are more desirable. There were good moments for new players, I think, with focus in the pets kind of nice though.
Sebrent:
Thanks for your input, that is apreciated. We wanted to start on a really light basis, so has to possibly draw in the attention of newer players to the Ranger. We will strive to delve more and more into every detail of the profession, however. I do apologise for the technical issues thought. We will be working on it, so I do believe we can clear that issue from this point onward. As you said, we got it out there. Now we can start building on top of it.
Chopps:
:D I’m thankful for your support. And yes we will start focusing on builds/playstyles/strategies/pet utility/utilities/pet families/dungeon crawling/spvp/tpvp/WvW and even solo play tips here and there.
If possible, we want to even be able to touch on the diversity of thought processes between NA and EU, so that both sides can draw from eachother.
Bare with us as we try to create a foundation on which new players can draw from.
I also think that as we get more and more guests on, there simply will be no way we can avoid discussing builds and playstyle. I just didn’t want to jump immediatly into the thick of it.
Thanks for pitching in! ;D
We’ll be monitoring every opinion we get, so feel free to share your thoughts on our work.

I did not ask him to say this or even write it for him (not sure I could write it this well). This is why Jin is one of our podcasting hosts, and why despite the hiccups of the first episode we are thrilled and excited about the Ranger podcast future.
