As much as POWER DMG can go in pvp
Critical damage increases your base damage by 200%, so wouldn’t it be better to increase that rather than the 40% increase to base damage?

Its nice to increase the crit dmg overall but in pvp this is the most you will get
You can go further in the Skirmishing traitline to gain 5% more crit dmg but thats all,and with axes you have 10% more crit dmg so its 65%..
I mean the 100% crit dmg its a 200% dmg boost but i repeakittens a pvp build and you cant achieve 100% crit dmg in pvp

So 50% crit dmg it means that if you make 100 dmg with an attack you will do now 200 and 100% crit dmg means that you will do 250 when you crit…
In pvp you cant achieve more than 65% crit dmg,so if you do 100 dmg non crit,with crit you will do 215.
while if you have 55% crit dmg and 40% dmg increase you will do 205 + 40 = 245
Am i doing wrong calculations?
The rune choice is a little odd I think if you want to potentially maximize the crits then full scholar there would be one thing to do, other than that it’s probably about as high as you get in spvp.
Actually with full Scholar its a total 8% crit dmg while with this is 10%,also im pretty sure that the 10% dmg increase it might not stack with the Peak Strenght trait,dunno i must test it tho

Why would it not stack? it would be utterly and completely kittened if it did not, like “hey here some gear and traits to increase you damage, oh also they don’t work together because we don’t want you to increase your damage”

I know but it’s not quite the same though there is no cap on pure damage other “conditions” have caps in their application both in terms of stacks and/or duration.
Why not use 6 runes of the thief? That’s another +10% damage while flanking.

For what it’s worth, based on my testing on my Warrior, I have found that damage bonus (i.e., no crit damage) do not stack additively, but rather multiplicatively. In other words, if you had traits that gave, for example, a 5%, 20% and 10% damage bonus, the total damage bonus would be 1.05 * 1.2 * 1.1 = 1.386, or 38.6% vice just adding the bonuses for a 35% damage bonus.
When adding crit damage, they stack multiplicatively as well. So, if you have a 40% damage bonus and 55% crit damage (for a total of 205%), and your base damage (i.e., non-crit, no damage bonus) is 100: 100 * 1.4 * 2.05 = 287.
Again, this was based on testing with Warrior traits. I would hope the basic mechanics for calculating damage with respect to damage bonuses would be the same across classes, but I can’t say 100%.
An important aspect of this is that, if my testing was accurate, base damage modifiers are far more valuable than crit damage bonus.
I believe too that base damage modifiers are more valuable than crit dmg bonus and even might stacks..Might is a boon that can be removed
I once heard a guy estimating the 10% dmg increase in might stacks,he said a lot of mights i dont remember how many tho..I need to run some tests to find out….
Argghh i wish it wasnt so hard to stack might with my Ranger
Now imagine with this build,focusing totally in dmg,we had also nice team supporting utility skills like Mesmers have..Or we could control our pets more reliable to offer the utility from them,being able to control Moas healing and not doing it in a random place when it comes to cd,or Pigs Charge,or Wolfs leap,there are so many nice skills in pets that are random and stupid…
Plz Devs address these things soon
