Ascended Armor
i got 1 full asc zerker armor for my ranger for pve, its just the none plus ultra and best way to play ranger in pve so why i should spend so much money and time for a soldier armor? ^^
PvE/Dungeon is always “zerker or go home”, you shouldn’t have any doubt about this.
For WvW roaming, you can try to get some extra trinkets to boost the survivability with stuff like Valkyrie, Soldier and so on, but keep the zerker armor.
Like Bambula, I got a zerker asc armor for my ranger.
(and the other 8 elite specs maxed too)
I figured as much. Thanks for confirming guys!
Celestial ranger works great in WvW roaming. You are glass, yet not really glassy.

might be hearsay but aren’t they nerfing the crit damage on celestials? I like knights myself.

They will nerf crit damage in all sets, that nerf is taking a while because Anet is still figuring a way to not nerf the crit damage on celestial more than in the other sets.

wait to invest in ascended until the next content path.
Ahhh alright. Good point Valinor. I may just do that for now.
Full set of ascended celestial with zerkers trinkets works fine, for now. Knights armour is great as well, but you loose out a little on natural condi damage. Celestial eventually will loose out out on OP crit damage but they will probably add boon duration or something to compensate. Full zerkers armour will make you start to hate ranger when you get to difficult content, so I would avoid it, but it’s up to you… Some enjoy the damage and such.
Illustrious Exhausted Primordial Legendary Druid, and Mesmer for fun

Hm, my current main go-to armor set is Exotic Celestial. I was thinking getting Celestial Ascended would be a bit redundant even with the stat increase (and that Exotic Celestial is tedious as hell to craft so I kind of don’t want that set to become obsolete unless the stat increase is significant enough to justify replacing it).
