Comparing sharpening stone to PI is a joke tho.
It’s probably the strongest racial skill ingame for PvP with a ridiculous low cooldown.
The main reason why it’s not been nerfed probably is because in sPvP people can’t use racial skills and the majority of people in WvW doesn’t know what PI is or when your enemy cast it…the green smoke should stay for the whole duration and start when the casting begins not when it ends, making it more obvious.

But you can still get by with it if ya don’t have PI.

I died yesterday for the first time to a ranger cause of that

My bloody sword auto attack got turned on some how and caused me to not be able to kill those kitten vines very fast…I was so embarrassed rofl….Should of just stayed with Axe, but I was curious if the Side Evade would get me out of the Entangle (I was watching the 3rd video, and it seem like I ran directly out of the root)

Sick’Em, he has a lot of points in his pets (you can tell from how much healthbar vanishes when he uses an F2) so increasing that damage by 15% and increasing their movement speed by 50% would certainly give him some burst.

I mean hell, look at any number of Thief/Mesmer video’s you see of them owning groups…Very rarely do i own a group, most of the time i’m getting smashed pretty hard as I can’t go invisible to take a breather in the middle of the fight.

PS: look carefully on the mesmer and thief videos, there’s a LOT of clever editing, almost all the people they fight aren’t lv 80, i know there was a few times on my ranger i killed like 10 people at once only to find out half way through that fight that all of them but 1 had the little green arrow by their lv showing they weren’t actually 80.

The reason why thieves and mesmers can beat groups of people is because of the escapability, survivability, and availability of stealths and ports.
I have a lot more respect for someone engaging and winning 1vNs without thief and mesmer cheese than I do for any of the mesmers and thieves putting out those movies. They would not be able to do it on another class. And, they shouldn’t be able to do it. Anet doesn’t seem to have the balls to fix this rather obvious risk versus reward inbalance.

By the way, I tested Sick Em, i didn’t like it as much as Sharpening Stone, I can rely on SS pretty good to do damage, Sick Em i have to rely on a pet and hopefully the ability won’t be wasted.
So that’d be my recommendation, though any of the Traps would work also.

Glad ya like it, I really wouldn’t call it my build, I mean.. I guess the Pain inverter part is since very few people thought of it…But everything else a lot of other Rangers thought of as well. Reason i made the video’s in the first place though is because we had a ton of doom and gloom on this board and I didn’t want it to ruin the community.

I try and ignore solo sub 80’s i run across, I’m starting to regret my decision though because they usually come back to AJ me something fierce.
Ranger bunkers are actually among the most dangerous because they are sturdy AND can kill their attacker, and using a pig + warthog makes it so you have a second heal and can drop a field to essentially tell the enemy to kitten off

Well for starters I alt a Mesmer, main a ranger, and I’m more into the condition overload thing that mesmers are good at, I have 2 stealths in my build (mass invis and torch) and then have mirror images, sig of illusion, and 3rd utility switches depending on scenario but is normally either mirror, arcane thievery or mantra of free dazes (idr the name), I didn’t realize you were grouping staff in as a teleport…
@Xsours I know I tested it back in the beta an the enemies couldn’t pick up your foraged items, but that was beta. Haven’t checked recently (going to Friday or Saturday) I can confirm that allies -can- pick up the items which gets REALLY annoying, especially when they waste one of my second heals/3sec invuln or my ethereal field/throw scale!! (Poison cloud as much as I love it isn’t -that- big of a deal if they waste it)

I usually cut out my death’s in my other videos, Though I do save some of them in a folder (I wanna just release a video of me getting smashed lol) Most of my death’s are usually to me just getting out numbered, but I do die in 1v1’s, usually I play badly, and they play pretty good (and in one case I played so badly i frankly deserved that loss).

I’ve been wanting to, just two major issues
1) my computer currently doesn’t have a graphics card so most of the videos point would be diminished by people going “Zomg graphix are so badz!” (I -have- a graphics card just not enough power for it, so i haven’t even put it in, should be getting a new power supply shortly though)
2) Idk what to do for the vid recording program and lack of time, granted the lack of time will be solved shortly with me being on break.

Last I tested, there was a limit as to how much you could spawn from pigs (after a while they just despawn one when you spawn a new one) and you still have to wait for the pet swap cooldown, so it’s not as awesome as it was early on when you could spawn and swap instantly out of combat, lol.
As for building burst without PI, I think the best route would probably be from building might on your bird, then unleashing the F2 with QZ and “Sick ’em”. After teh F2 casts, swap to your other bird and F2 again (who has might from Mighty Swap). However, landing two F2 bursts in a row would probably be tough, especially against anyone that would know to blow a defensive cooldown when they see you cast QZ/“Sick ’em”. I haven’t tested this, but it’s an iea. =P
