I feel offhand axe still needs work. I tried offhand axe again in pvp since they added the pull but was disappointed with it especially in WvWvW. The travel speed for path of scars is too slow and its too easy to dodge/avoid the return swing. This is especially true when fighting other mad dodging rangers or other mobile/stealth professions. Even if you can connect with the return swing for the pull I feel the pull distance is very weak. It feels more like just a interrupt than a pull.

Ya the speed of the pull needs help; it’s easy to dodge in pvp. I like target someone who’s down though and pulling all their friends trying to rez. Also, offhand axe rocks in dungeons and pve.
Still can easily do 2,6k+2,6k with a little crit dmg but i will agree,it moves too slow..
I love running axe/axe in a crit damage build. Especially with multiple targets. Like mentioned the pull is troublesome at times and you may throw your axe off into the distance without a return on it. However when it does connect the crit dmg off of it makes an awesome burst.

When I main dual axes I typically go with a 30 Marksmanship, 20 Skirmishing, 20 Wilderness survival build. I usually run knights gear to back it up. (I’m cheap and went with ascended celestial trinkets because I change my build a lot, and don’t have the means to acquire new ascended for every build.)
Used Short bow as my second weapon. High crit chance still works nicely on the weapon to keep up some sustained (though not excellent) damage.
I ran signet CDR, Beast Master’s Might, and Beast master’s Signet traits in Marksmanship. Skirmishing got x/axe crit damage+10%. Wilderness survival got natural vigor and off hand training.
I ha a great time chilling a target with Axe 3, pulling the with 4(Path of Scars) directly into either a 5(Whirlwind defense) or 2(Split blade). The bounce on axe 1 is fun for zerging, and if you jump in the middle of a group trying to Rez, pop all signets and rampage as one, you are a six second invulnerable, non-cc-able, crit stacking, vulnerability inducing monster. Hits like a truck and forces the enemies off, if it doesn’t murder the squishies.
It may not be the most effective DPS weapon set we have, but it is absolutely fun when you can pull off a well timed face mauling.
Just 2¢ from a potentially horrible player.
the issue with the pos (lol pos…) is that it hits once before the pull, most people i’ve tried it against will dodge right after the hit, either from knowing what it is or just a gut reaction. That dodge after the first hit is what breaks the pull. I’ve used it for an hour or so in wvw and tried to use it on many people and i’d say it lands prolly about 30% of the time (aside from it clipping into the ground or something else)

I run Sword/Axe in my DD Re-Port331 and it has some great interupt functions. what i like to do is Hit em with Sword 3 for the poison healing debuff, then Engangle. then i use A4 and while its still out i start kitten they are rooted taking all my damage then just as they try to do something to get out of the entangle or the A5 damage they get knocked down from the A4 on return.
Its good times and when played with finesse you can really shine.

I like Axe/Axe for WvW. The off hand is not easy to use and can be situational but the main hand is great if you spec into Horned Axe with a good amount of Power/Crit/Crit Damage. The offhand in zerg warfare is a hit or miss. Path of Scars is good to use if your fighting in chokes to pull enemies into your groups AOE and Whirling Defense is an underrated ability IMO. WD is great for finishing off stacks of downed player and defending siege or allies against projectiles. I have been running Axe/Axe with a GS or LB and it have been a ton of fun.
thinking about how the ability works..the return axe should come back to you regardless if you move. not where you threw it from. that would allow you to circle strafe with it and much more.

Yes, that’s exactly what it needs. A boomerang return function would make this weapon much better and much more reliable while moving around.
