So I’m at 80 now and I am starting to wonder about what gear I will invest in. I like Axe/Axe and would like continue with it, but I’ve no idea about Ranger builds..

I can do thirty Five-Dolyak Arm Curls.

Do you even lift, bro?

Pow/Pre/CritDmg , Only good condition weapons are the torch and and maybe shortbow.

EDIT: Axe 2 is the only condition dmg skill on MH and you have to get really close to be effective. Don’t try for condition dmg with axes go for the stats i stated above trust me.

axe MH is primarily a condition weapon, OH is a pure power weapon so either balance both stats or change one weapon.

To answer a couple questions here, first, until the condition caps on PvE are fixed, running conditions in dugeons—like at all—is a waste of DPS. That’s why Rampager is ‘t good in dungeons for ranger right now. Regarding mainhand axe, the primary utility is big richocheting cleaves in berserker gear. For offhand axe, Path of Scars—if you line it up—can NAIL like a few dozen 2000 point crits, also, the Whirling Defense is extremely helpful to A) reflect projectiles and to stack vulnerability on a mob. If you use Whirling Defense offensively, though, prepare for possible 1 shots from the boss and he realizes how much you’re being a pain in his or her neck.

if your using axe/axe going condition dmg and utilising traps is very powerful, 3 out of 5 attacks are projectile finishers, path of scars if a double finisher (100% chance once on release and again on return) then to top it off WD is a whirl combine with a drake for blast finishers an go nuts

Right now, Axes are kind of equal with Shortbows at damage. If they keep it up, it will be good. Combining it with a warhown, its a nice support+dmg build. (Still not as effective)
However, swords are even weaker.

The answer is “Yes.” The axe mainland is a condi power hybrid, and the axe off hand weapon is a combo finisher/pure damage weapon. So, if you’re running traps (skirmish) and WS + rabid gear you’ll reap the rewards of a double axe build, especially if you pair that with the fire field you can path of scars through for 100% burn application, or poison field for 100% poison.

Not to mention WD is a great defensive weapon, and when used with a combo field can be devastating.

This is false (the conditions = useless part), most people don’t run condi builds, and people with condi damage take priority in their conditions damage than others, so you’d be very useful as long as there isn’t a ton of other condi users.

In -most- scenarios 2 condi users in a dungeon will work, you start getting more than that and people will start stepping on each others toes.
