I’ve been noticing after auto attacking with my axe and then using Stalker’s Strike, that I just sat there for a while before executing the move. It’s the only skill that seems like it has it’s own problem because it’s the only skill that makes your character move in the axe/dagger combo. I took it to LA test dummies and tried to find out what was making the delay. I tested each attack using Stalker’s Strike right afterward and noticed that it was the auto attack that was making the delay happen. I even tried pressing #1 and then #5 as Crippling Talon executes fairly quickly. Even dagger #5 had a delay when used with the basic auto attack. Is the aftercast too long? I find a lot in PvP and roaming in WvW that I sit there for a good half a second completely vulnerable. You may say that half second doesn’t matter but in a game where timing is everything, sitting there motionless for a split second is a stun + hundred blades away from my death.
I would say a 0.5-0.1s aftercast reduction is definitely in order for the next patch. I would also like to see it get a damage buff on first hit, followed by a drop off per ricochet (balance wise, it deals the same amount of damage to 3 targets as before, but with this change it will be stronger against a single opponent than before).
Will we get it is the real question? It’s been a year and axe main hand is still weak for power builds other than for cc and zerging where you can practically guarantee the triple ricochet.
Yeah, it’s pretty slow isn’t it? Some in pvp circles have wanted this for months.
I’ve always thought the axe after cast was too slow even though it can bounce to targets. I imagine they will change it eventually but soon? hard to know.
