Guild Wars 2

I’m looking to get back into ranger, mainly in pvp and wvw. I have a pretty standard longbow build for wvw, but I’m looking for something a little different in pvp. I really like the way that axe was reworked and I would really like to build/find a team fight build based around it. Anyone have or know of any such builds, or have any suggestions that might help? I have very limited experience with ranger….

A lot of people will post their builds shortly, but the general idea to help you make your own is that might stacking works best with celestial builds. It also can be transferred to your pet via fortifying bond.

^ This plus companion’s might, beastmaster’s might and sigil of strength can rack some serious pet might. Remember regardless of the might duration you get, its 10 seconds (base) but the stack amount is still shared so BM might is actually X3 might for your pet. Add this to a bird such as raven and deal some serious damage. With the new axe its even easier now too, but prior to the axe update I was getting ~6k blinding slashes on people.

Even so axe MH is such an obvious hybrid weapon for ranger that it almost seems best to just use it as such and forget trying to lean one way or the other.

Dont run axe as a mean to deal damage run it as a mean to buff the pet. However if you can actualy deal heavy damage from path of scar (ive killed people with that this ability hurt like hell) then you likely in for something. Mainly it remains a beastmaster weapon.

Axe #3 is amazing to allow your buffed pet hit the target more easily and over all that inflict weakness.

Axe with fire sigil against 2+ targets is also great, the AoE over the AoE autoattack and even with axe #2 is a massive area cleaner.

Axe is an awesome Cap point cleaner and at the same time it buffs the pet.
after a few autos>bleed>chill>Drake hound f2>swap leap into the point and Maul all of the Rabbits.
