B4 the "balance"(nerf?) faceroll build
Why are you running dual LB? You have no traits or sigils that benefit from that.

Sry, yes the hour here is too late.
Actually i began using GS/LB but i found more useful (because the unreliable GS3 and the kittened maul) the flying stick staff.
Stats the same, just combination staff/LB.
The link in the OP is updated with the correct build now. thx again.
Wow this like so amazing!
Can I run carrion devourer with it or should I switch to brown bear?

Ok seriously i could melt an stealth scrapper with this (with a lot of hard work, that scrapper from Jade Sea was so unbelievably good!!). You can achieve >10K RF still have over 18K hp.
Still those reapers melt me like ice (me and any other) their hits are like the real deal.
Thieves with their stealth “i don’t know where to look for you” are just too much for me.
So again L2P advice so much appreciated

Usually it depends: PvE tiger + bristle.
WvW: smoke + bristle.
Because you don’t depend on the pet for anything i use it to bother other players. Sometimes is even able to kill something….
: grammar grammar… i apologize if my english is not even bearable (pun intended) .

I’m thinking of using sigil of mischief instead of sigil of water so I can throw snowballs at people. The blind really could be useful for safe stomps.

Do you think you need that? I don’t have trouble with stomps, you have the trait shared anguish for that. Also 3 instant stun breakers.
I you need more anti-cc than that, mischief is not going to save you, i think.
Although i have a lot of trouble with focused reapers… Those are hard to face.. or faceroll in this case…

Sarcasm senses tingling. . . .
Justine being mean meta.
@anduriell
I had a build that could literally laugh off Reapers. And revenants. And thieves.
But you’d need sword+dagger for that. It’s only 2 attacks that you should be aware of and the rest is neglectable. If you can, by any means, dodge those two and then Staff #3 away, getting range – you might be able to get back into the game.
The magic in S/D against reapers is that you can technically dodge most of their Signets and bursts.
Ranged weps without amazing utility the melee ones bring was never really my game-style.

Yeah, i do love the fast pace from the sword and the cleave. Problem is that sword AA is so bad designed i get myself killed most of the times, because i’m locked into the leap or i leap off a cliff.
If along this year Aney fix the bugs with the ranger weapons and improve their usability probably i’ll shift to condi and SB + Sword/torch (or dagger).
But right now is super annoying when you leap pass your target in AA.
@anduriell
Also, I gave your build a thought or two and … One thing still bugs me.
What does it do better than any of the already existing viable builds?
Also, it scared the hell out of me when I tried to figure out what kind of stats do you use and hovered over the items. That was scary, dude =D
Power/precision/healing power with enough vita/toughness to take the sting out of playing glass.
It would be better if build had traited warhorn or traited shouts for a good source of regen to take advantage of all that healing power.

Yes, i needed it a lot of reiterations (craft + test) to get it right. I end up with this numbers:
- as closed as posible to 2.2K power.
- as closed as possible to 1.5k armor
- as closed as possible to 50% crit. Preferably over 50%.
- Over 18K hp
- over 400 healing power.
If not you could become: - too weak to do average damage compared to other classes (bags)
- too glassy to stay alive for long enough
- no crits means lack of damage too. It was for something why ranger had +10% crit chance before the nerf (some time ago)
- Heals to weak to sustain yourself.

I tried that build (WHaO, Sick’em, SotP) but although it has a good sustain it had a very bad weakness against conditions and it lacks the punch you need to take out tanky builds fast enough to not to be melted.
Also i tried the GS instead the Staff, although the damage was good it would have the very bad weakness of ranged projectile reflections, so sometimes you would find yourself fighting against an tempest and an engi with all the reflects they have and you could do no damage at all (obviously to get in close 2v1, and those 2, wasn’t an option).
Also Swoop had the very bad habit to throw me off cliffs in EotM or in the middle of the enemy zerg.
With this build you can keep easy >10 stacks of might that will make yours Rapid fire achieve >10K. The barrage will hit for 1K each so it’s also some support there. You have the needed mobility + blast for the smokescale (stealth).
The staff is very bad (around 900 crits) but at least is a weapon you can use if the LB is not viable you need a reliable mobility source with the flying stick to reset to the LB again.
+you get the benefits from the typical survival build.
The SIGIL of water in LB is a must, makes the AF build faster. Also if you equip Lingering light instead Ancient Seeds you’ll charge the AF faster.
Quickening Zephyr is a must. Not only to accelerate the channels from bad designed skills like Natural Convergence, but also to be escape from a hairy situation. Hunters Shot or Smoke cloud + Ancestral Grace and that extra superspeed can help you get you out.
If the roots from Entangle would be reliable it would be a good elite. Right now i use it only as another cleanse + source of fury and maybe an small annoyance (like Point blank shot) if the situation presents itself.
I find this build very nice in Zerg, sturdy and good enough in solo fights. I don’t have a serious disavantage against Revenants if they don’t focus all their fire on me (those 8K crits with sword AA are a joke) my problem is manly is with Zerker Reapers.
The Close To Death trait + Damage from the Reaper Shroud is simply too much damage, this build heals good, but not that fast.
Let’s see if with the balance changes we get the improvement needed in the ranger weapons so i can have other choices.
