BS has a clear lore now, and that is to save you from 1 shot abilities or to keep your pet from dying if your health is above 90%. It is a good trait.

Correct me if I’m wrong, but I thought the old barkskin was -50% damage for you and your pet at less than 25% health, which would not only stop you from getting oneshotted in the meta right now, but would also mitigate executioner from thief now that they can take that and panic strike.
I wish they didn’t change barkskin at all, it would’ve worked nicely with MDG.
Yes it was around that Bloody. My thinking was to tie it in roughly in terms of activation with MDG and IR at the 40% or 50% health mark. If this was the case then id say a 25% reduction would be reasonable.
I don’t mind really… sudden backstabs out of nowhere don’t hurt that much anymore, and I often can charge into things like a full rapid fire at the start of a fight as protection buff triggered by protective Ward + bark skin just hits for lol dmg (my ranger has 3.3± toughness). The bark skin the way it is now makes soloing garrison, bay and hills childsplay…used to have my drakes die at least once which reduced dps.
HoT = WvW players forced to PVE
You wouldn’t get any benefit from it now.
If you were at 26% hp, you received the full damage number. Pointless in this meta. I’m surviving tons and tons of situations thanks to the new functionality. I don’t want it changed back.
If you want to gamble on low HP – get SoS.
