Guild Wars 2

I’d been using Perplexity Runes of course since the patch, and this is mainly with BM Bunker.

I decided to drop those and switch over to the Runes to pickup the much needed utility, I find them to be better then perplexity….While I like Confusion, being able to drop Signet of the Hunt and run SoR along with Lightning Reflex and Signet of the Wild is just far to valuable, I don’t lose much on speed loss on pet as I run Spiders anyway.

I kind of think my Technobabble Build would be better with he Traveler Runes also, just cause you could pickup SoR as well, or Lightning Which would help…..While Confusion is nice with the build, Its main killer has always been the ability to lock people down for killing.

If i can get some more gold I may just do it, I don’t play a whole lot anymore…so that might be a problem.

They’re really good. You can still get by without them but they’re very nice.

Yea, you can get by without them..Perplexity can still be used, along with a number of other runes, but having access to a utility slot is incredibly powerful.

Perplexity are really good too though

I’m still hung up on it. I’ve already dished out the money for 2 sets, 1 for my necro and 1 for my mesmer.

I’m hesitant about dishing out more for my ranger because I change armors and builds on my ranger the most often. I was waiting for a patch to help me make a more definitive decision on the exact build I want to run with.

Yea same Jcbroe, I actually has Superior Rune of Speed, but I waited like a month to have them fix it, but despite them knowing about it, they never bothered fixing it in the past 2 patches so I just decided to spend the gold

I would like to get it for my Dazer set… but I’d need money, and I spend more time playing FFXIV right now then GW2.

It would, at average efficiency, be like 5 hours of frostgorge champ runs right now if a set of 6 is still around 36-40g on the TP.

Still, I’m on edge about it. I’ve just been leveling an Engineer using Queensdale champ runs until the next patch to see if it sways me.

No PvP in it yet, Suppose to come within the next patch or two…Will have Death Match Arena and a 3 Faction Massive Scale PvP area similar to Borderlands (well more similar to DAOC)

Seems the guy who’s head of it is a big DAOC fan or something, Suppose to have the Equiv of Realm Ranks and Realm Abilities also.

Combat is actually kind of like DAOC in the sense you can interrupt casters fairly easy, and there is lots of Hard CC. Could end up being very interesting, Only problem is very little if any build diversity which is something I like in games.

Also Group Size is 8 (there are 4 man dungeons, but max group size is 8, which is like DAOC)

Never played DAOC. I watched some FF gameplay, the combat seems very uhh… stationary? it doesn’t seem like it has the fluidity gw2 has (leap, dodge, etc around). I’m hoping Anet will drop an expansion to compete with all the big mmos coming out.

Its very slow paced, Much Slower then previous games its similar to (Rift/Swtor/WoW)

You have a base 2.5 GCD on everything….and very few if anything doesn’t use the GCD…So if I hit a mob with an attack, and something pops up that I got to interrupt, I got to hope its not faster cast then 2.5 seconds otherwise I won’t be able to Interrupt.

I couldn’t stand that game and I was in its beta since march. Too we like

DAOC was good in its time…. its where a lot of the ideas in this game were conceived. People take most of it for granted now but were huge concepts at the time. I feel like a history prof now :p

On my necro I run at the same pace with the runes as I do with the necros 25% signet. Not sure if that’s a validation since it isn’t the ranger class, but I don’t have the runes for my ranger :/

Have you tried rabid, sharpened edges, keen edge, sigil of earth, and muddy terrain with a shortbow? I feel like that’s more pressure. You might toss in a sun spirit too. Just make sure you take either traveler runes or a mix of afflicted/krait for hilariously long bleed duration.

I tested them with the signet. Upon activating the signet, the speed at which I am running does not appear to change.

I currently have like 1900 or more condition dmg I think I can get more from stacks, using fire spirit is awesome, also the protection spirit, I can stack confusion bleeding fire poison and stun, I want to drop the signet of the hunt too and add I dont know.. maybe storm spirit. stacking bleed sounds awesome, but I like to cover conditions with more conditons to make harder the cleansig of all that mess. and yeah im using rabid its great with that build.

I ran my Rabid Build as both a Trapper and a Spirit Ranger using Traveler Runes, the amount of condition damage is silly…I actually opted for i think 60% boon duration on the spirit build cause of the buffs you can put out.

sigh…now I want to try travelers… but but..perplex is a good lockdown for the enemy or they get selfkilled with 2kdmg everytime they press a button…are you sure that travelers gives you that silly amouny of dmg to shadow your bubleblablerish build? because I combined that with spirit and you really rolfomgstomp evwrything in 1v1

I’ve not tried it on Technobabble Build yet..Not enough cash, However I know not having a Stun Breaker is asking for death in todays pvp.

I’m running 2 Stun Breakers right now with BM Bunker, Confusion while nice doesn’t compare to picking up SoR for example (which can save your life vs Necro’s for example)

I might actually drop a Stun Breaker as well when they change Sic’Em I have to see how it works, If its just a 4 second Reveal, it’ll never touch my bar because its awful.

They are fixing runes of speed in the next patch. They are also going to buff them somehow (maybe not in the next patch) along with a lot of other runes. That’s why the run of speed is steadily increasing in price, market speculators know the fix is coming.

Ahh, maybe it’ll be better then, though Traveler still has condition duration and boon duration which is nice.
