For PVE, you’re probably going to want to run a condi build. Core condi ranger DPS is extremely competitive, and condi druid tends to outperform power druid (although both druid builds are fine to use if you really have a preference). However, this means that you don’t run longbow (you typically run shortbow and axe/torch instead). Core power ranger isn’t all that great that in PVE, but if you enjoy it, you can always run it—especially in open world. Just don’t expect to get all that far in higher level PVE content. You can also run a healer druid with magi’s gear, but that isn’t really used outside of raids/babysitting high-tier fractals.
As for PVP/WVW, longbow is a viable option. However, because I’m not all that experienced in that area, I’m not going to comment on the specific builds. If you’re looking for a build there, I’d suggest going to metabattle and looking at the builds available.
